If the Jets could get a star ROLB like DeMarcus Ware and a good safety like Gerald Sensabaugh and a 1st round pick for Revis they should grab it. That's not going to happen though even in Jerry-land.

I was watching the game yesterday with my buddy and he brought up Leonhard not being there so we cant do what we normally do. It just doesnt seem to me like a good idea to have one fuckin guyon the team able to call a defense?? Same thing happened last year when Leonhard ( who completely blows by the way) went down. As bad as Smith is, perhaps hes right that the fuckin coaching staff should have played the big boy defense. Because apparently, the dummied down version cant stop me and my fuckin family. This coaching staff BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From Schotty to that clown Callahan to Pettine and ultimately it all falls on fat Rex

The sad truth...This team is a lot less talented than many thought in the beginning of the season, especially on defense. If this defense were to be rebuilt, I would probably only keep 5-6 players. This defense needs to be revamped. We all that that brining youth to the Dline would do that, but pretty much every position besides CB needs that same help.

Like I said in the offseason thread, itll take a while for this team to rebuild itself. Rex's Defensive schemes are not where the problems lie. We just dont have the personnel.

In Baltimore, he had all the talent in the world, and when he came here, our defense became #1 because teams didnt know how to attack the defense and read it. Our personnel didnt beat teams, the defensive scheme did. Now after a few years of the same schemes and not much upgrade, we simply cant beat teams relying on our defense.

This is a huge over-reaction if I've ever seen one. This team was shit before this coaching staff came along, there is blame to be had, but they can only do so much with the players they currently have.

The coaching staff obviously knows their players better then any of us, I would imagine there is a very good reason why they dumbed down their scheme. Who says Smith or Pool can handle that work load? What have they ever done to make you believe they could?

Last year win Jimmy went down, we fell apart. He is the brain of that defense for the coaching staff. They eventually corrected it, moved on from it, and went on a big playoff run.

I don't doubt the coaching staff at all, they will get it right when it matters most. We can easily make a run to the SB still, no team in the AFC is consistently dominate. Every team in the AFC is flawed to some extent.

You beat me to it. Pace has been expected to do more in the run D since Thomas went out. As best I can tell he's doing exactly what the CS wants from him, is one of the better tacklers, makes very few mistakes, and has stayed healthy this year. He's someone the Jets will and should keep next year.

It's the same thing that happened to the o-line when Mangold went down too. I agree that it falls on the Coaching staff to make sure someone else can make the adjustments.

2 Jimmy Leonhard season ending injuries followed by 2 45 point beat downs by the opposing team....wow! Must be some magic to that number 45.
