There is a lot bigger problem to this offense that meets the eye. We keep focusing on the QB as the root cause of all our wows. Believe me I’m plenty pissed about Zach this week, but it’s crappy football far more than just Zach. Where is our running game for Pete’s sake. We can’t get a half a yard on third down, like in never We can’t run at all. Where are our TEs? Do we actually have more than one receiver we can throw to? Doesn’t seem so. How about some real planned roll outs, not just scramble for life. Do we know how to throw a screen, where in hell is our slot receiver play, iis there a tabu against two running back formations?
I wish there was a "love" instead of "like". It looks like we run a pre season offense, very vanilla as if we don't want to show our hand. It's looking more and more like we don't have a hand and are bluffing our way to wins. Throw the f'n ball down the field please. We have to have the least aggressive offense over the last decade, love field goals and celebrate TDs like we won the SB.
Sheesh. I guess folks didn’t see much of the game when we tried running and had under 30 yards total. ZW makes a couple of short passes on third down, we move the ball and continue the possession. Didn’t happen today. Ugly game indeed, but I’ll take it.
Yeah, on reflection, I’m in this camp now. We don’t know how being down to your fourth string center affecting the play calling. Not to mention the invalid behind center.
The New York Giants greatest strength is their front four on defense. For the life of me, how can Hackett justify calling run after run right into that defensive line? Hall was FAR more successful when he swept to the outside, and scored a Touchdown on a screen pass. He didn't get another one thrown at him again until the 4th quarter.
Oh I didn’t think I actually had to, cause it’s pretty obvious. Not saying Hack doesn’t deserve his share, but compared to MLF he’s been better and that’s saying a lot
You can’t play football without offensive linemen. Both teams were playing with patchwork offensive lines made up of practice squad linemen, against very good fronts. In the rain. So you had two teams terrified to to throw the football. VERY UGLY. When you have maybe the best RB in football and he only runs for 17 yards on 12 carries, that should tell you something. He didn’t wake up yesterday and suck. We DESPERATELY need OL help. That worries me way more than or QB or OC.
It tells me that the OC is a MORON for continuously running up the middle, right into the Giants' strength instead of sweeping outside, or throwing repeated screen passes which actually showed success in the first quarter.
When there's practically zero threat in the passing game, what do you think the defense is planning for? It's not like they have the DOMINANT road grading O-line to overcome that...
I am not debating this for a second. However, a non-existent pass game has nothing to do with calling plays that send the running back right up the middle into a fierce Giants' front four. Zach Wilson has nothing to do with the decision NOT to sweep the RBs to the outside, away from the Giants' front four.
