He may be, but I think we need to see a lot more of both of them before that can be accurately determined. I don't think that Maye is better, their responsibilities are just different. Adams is doing a lot more of the dirty work and heavy lifting, whereas Maye has less responsibility and can play the ball more, so he's gonna be noticed more.
Rodgers is his BFF. BFF's value friendship over competence, even if it costs them. On one hand, you have to admire their loyalty; OTOH, if it costs you your job and makes you look incompetent in the process, and hurts the team.... If Rodgers was as good a friend as Bowles thinks, then he (Rodgers) would resign so that Bowles doesn't have to fire him.
Mayes has always been a better coverage safety because that's not Adams forte but to say Mayes is a better safety than Adams as in a better talent is absolutely ridiculous lol. Im glad Mayes is back he is clearly the best roaming coverage Saftey on the roster him and Adams really compliment each other very well. Honestly, the overall youth movement on this team and the way younger guys are plying actually gives Jets fans some hope.
I get your point, but in all fairness, he has only played one game this year lol If he had been playing all year so far and had one great game, I'd be a bit more hesitant. But for a guy to play in his first game of the season after dealing with an injury, and having a game like that, it's pretty impressive. And it seems to have helped this defense a lot

Well said Griff. Both definitely have different specialties. It’s incredible to think that one person can make such a huge impact. What’s even more mind boggling is that every player in the league is acknowledged as being the best football players in the country. Middleton played well in Mayes absence and is in the NFL for his exceptional skills. But Mayes abilities and football IQ is far superior than Middleton’s and it really showed against the Broncos. A pick and a sack? That’s insane. Physically he looks like one of my all time favorite players... ED REED! And that 103/104 yrd run back is so reminiscent of the great Baltimore FS!

Maye was consistently one of the better players last year. He's becoming one of the better FS in the league. Plus he's a sure tackler as they come. Him and Adams do two totally different things so it's unfair to say one is better than the other. I'm just glad to have these two beasts.
His partner motor mouth gets all the attention but Maye is by far the better safety. It's not even close.
That was the funniest thing I've seen in a while. He was gassed and trying to get into the end zone but hit E at the one lol.
