Not a dirty hit. Nine times out of 10 that's just a good clean tackle. Landry can't really help it if Jackson's leg is planted. I also don't think he was taunting him... he kind of stopped clapping when it became obvious Jackson wasn't getting up.

He also went after Nelson and Spillers knee's and got a flag for a late hit out of bounds. Luckily Spiller got up and was ok. I hope he pulls a hammy and comes up limp next time he tries to pre-medidtate a hit like that.

    Premeditate:
To ponder something in advance: to consider or think carefully about something beforehand.

If that was what he was doing, giving it careful thought as he was running to make a tackle, more power to him.

I understand you are a Buffalo fan and don't like your players being taken down with premeditation, but that is what I want to see in our Jets hitters.

I saw nothing that was illegal or 'thought out ahead of time', it was just hard hitting, something that apparently comes naturally to Landry. May more of our Jets hit so hard... it might slow down a few opponents.

Being old enough to have seen play the Oakland Raiders duo of Jack Tatum and George (Dirty George) Atkinson, Landry is hardly in either of these guy's class of "dirty". He hits hard yes. So did Ronnie Lott. His hits have been known to injure players. So does any hard hit in the league. His explanation of the clapping is plausible although to a Buffalo fan, it sounds like so much bullshit.

I think the injury to Jackson was incidental as it appeared as though Jackson's leg caught in the turf after the hit and Landry hit the thigh, not the knee. Its been quite a few decades since we've had a hitter like Landry on the roster. I'm lovin every minute of it too..

Easy ALL you detectives out there. Maybin played well but not outstanding yesterday.
Landry was all over the place, playing hard and hitting hard. Good to see from a player being paid a lot of $$$$.
Lets see how the rest of the year works out

I agree that it was just a hard hit and he wasn't celebrating beyond the immediate clapping that defensive players do after a great play. Landry had to hurdle another Jet player to make the play, so he was probably celebrating making the play and not injuring another player. The field cameras were not focusing on Landry after the play, so I don't understand why the other poster exaggerates about excessive celebration. Jackson was fortunate that Landry didn't hit him right on the knee...that would have ended Jackson's season.

Dirty player? I rewatched some of the footage yesterday and I couldn't find any flags or 2 hand touch going on. Looked like Pro Football, not intramural.

Landry puts fear into the opposing WR's and RB's.

    I like that.

    Go Jets.

In todays league where players get fined and flagged for doing anything above the waist Im not gonna blame him for taking out jacksons legs.

I assume this is the hit that spawned this post.

Every other hit I've seen from him just shows someone who's trying to send a message that "be willing to pay a price if your going to cross my line of sight" pretty much what he was brought here to do.

Crush people and be less of a liability in the pass game than eric smith.

If anything he might be too aggressive for my taste. He sacrifices power for pursuit anggles and is going for the kill shot each time.

Being that he's always around the ball and almost everyone he hits has a hard time getting up, I can't complain.

But the way he plays he will eventually be a iability in the pass game over the top and also filling gaps in run support. Ie overpursuing or commiting to a gap too early.

All this being said I love watching him play and he's been a good addition. My negatives are just projected over a 16 game season

No. I don't think he's dirty at all. the hit on Jackson looked clean, Fred's foot was just stuck in the ground.

I dont care if they do steroids. I just want them to win.

And I also think almost everyone in the NFL is taking some sort of Performance enhancer

We are the New York Jets.
    No one likes us anyway.

Lets give them a reason too.

    Go Landry!

All good safeties are borderline dirty players, it comes with the territory.

I don't care if he's suspended a game, seeing the medical staff picking up Brady's head separately from his body will be a wondrous site to me.

....Although now I suddenly have a nervous twitch and shaking with visions of Bledsoe crumpled under Mo Lewis.

Landry's hit and celebration was fine

he even said on twitter he's playing with passion and doesn't intend to hurt others

Not sure if he's dirty or juicing, but seeing Bell and Landry stand next to the LB corps, they are both the size of linebackers and they both lay the wood. I can't wait to play the Patriots.

Let me say this and this should end the discussion with the NFL trying to protect the Heads of players this man and the way he tackles and dives for players legs and wraps them up does not make him a dirty player
He uses what the NFL gives him hit low( yes the Knees ) and he does it with power so the Knee caps of some of these players should watch out

It doesn't look good that he gets up and starts clapping after that hit, but how is he supposed to know he just really hurt him? It looked like he was happy about making a nice hit/tackle, so he was clapping to pump himself and the team up. It's not like he pointed at FJax and laughed at him on the ground.
