We’ve all seen this script before. Jets will go on a meaningless run to miss the playoffs but also kill their draft position. This is a 7-10 team like last year.
I think this is right. This team is nowhere near as good as we thought they were but they are not quite as bad as what we have seen so far. We've been stuck at mediocre ever since our tank season of 2020.
Nothing good comes from being a Jets fan -- wanting this franchise to have a high draft pick is just asking for greater heartbreak.
Not sure what you are seeing but NE is now a tossup game. Miami is, at BEST, a split and the rest...well...Arizona beat the 49'ers and the Rams are more well coached than Denver with a damn skippy better QB. Of all that you listed, MAYBE they pull out 4 wins. Maybe...
Maye is going to light us up next week and get his first win. The first of many he will deal to is over the next decade, Half our roster has already packed it in for the season. Rodgers signing will set this franchise back and it will be another 5 years before we even dream of being competitive with no qb in sight.
Oddly enough I think we need help on defense now Maybe Travis can be the QB of the future. If not IDK where you even begin with this team
This is all We’re going to have a new coaching staff and GM next year. There’s zero chance that regime will give Travis any kind of shot.
Tankathon, maybe. All I know is after 14 years (out of 15) we've been non relevant before the end of the calendar year, usually October. I always start watching basketball.
There's no reason now to believe that Rodgers would want to be here or the team would want him to be. If he is here next year there would be zero expectations and zero pressure on the new GM that the season would be successful - it's the cost of doing business, the lamest duck season the NFL has ever seen - the goal should be to hit the lowest cap figure in the league to carry over as much as possible to the future. Next year will be the best chance the Jets have probably ever had to finally get the ship of state on course, lighten the load, repower and reman. It needs a captain and crew that can look beyond the horizon and focus on the destination. The timing is right to start looking for the right people to fill every position and if they are in some way available before this season ends the Jets should take every early opportunity to move people out and move the new crew in. Put the "Jet" in jettison and clean house in earnest!
