You need to find the stats when they are matched up together. Sauce doesn't travel, these numbers don't really show anything.

I don't know how you can know that. My theory is that Sauce was drafted as high as he was because the Jets needed someone to counter Hill who had just signed with Miami after he rejected the Jets offer. I can't give stats on head to head match up but I think we can get an idea from these stats that both receivers have been kept more or less at bay the past two years and much of that is because of the play of Sauce.

That's the other consideration which also improves his stats. He plays so little man, so how much do we pay a zone 3rds guy. Not saying he cant play man well, but we don't see it enough against top WRs to know.

This year they're rotating coverage, so it's hard to know. I think they should just let him cover the other teams #1 like Revis used to do. So what if they don't throw it his way. At least they won't have to worry about that guy. Sauce vs a good TE is a bad matchup for us.

    Thank you!!!
What is 10/9 and 1/8? I thought it was targets an catches?
The numbers are not bad, but 93, 102, 102 are not shut down numbers.

Did he even travel with them on those games???He usually stays on his side.

I understand the sentiment, but we pretty much have that on the Jets and we haven't seen any results.

Great in coverage, soft when it comes to tackling.

During games I haven't heard his name mentioned much up to this point of the season.

For a CB (much like a OL) that's a good thing. Right?

I’m not sure… if i never saw Deion, Woodson or Revis play, just to same a few, maybe I could agree with you. But I don’t know…

I always say Big time players make big time plays. Interceptions, strips, big hit that causes a fumble, sacks…do something that gets you mentioned.

The jets did not draft him because of hill. They drafted him because he was the best cornerback prospect in a long while and they needed a cornerback. It’s pretty simple.

Did everyone see what i’m referring to? He doesn’t get a lot of targets but when he does it’s a PI.

Even the way he turns and runs with the receiver seems like he’s in panic mode instead of licking his chops, happy he has a chance to make a big play for his team. Now he’s hurt?

    He’s not that dude…PERIOD

I can’t believe Sauft Gardner just said it’s hard to to get interceptions in man to man.
Sure, it’s easier to locate the ball in zone coverage, but I don’t expect a former rookie of the year, pro bowl, ready for a big contract CB to say that.
More proof to me that he’s not a big time player. That’s like Reddick or Bosa saying they don’t have a sack because they have to go one on one with the tackles instead of stunting.

If Sauce is really an elite corner then the picks should just start coming without the team challenging him. His game since he was at Cincinnati has been using his length and quickness to disrupt the path of the ball at the last possible second, and he's really good at it. If he consciously starts changing the way he plays like that for picks he'll probably get exposed a bunch

INTs would be nice but what's more important is not allowing many catches or big plays. INTs are great but they're not the most important marker of CB play
