Do you really think the Jets are a power running team?

I want the Jets to draft Allen Bailey. They can trade for a safety, also a pass rusher wouldn't hurt either.

I want Chris Harris from Chicago, I've wanted him on the Jets for some time.

Not so much this year with LT, but previously? Yes.

Maybe run-oriented is a better wording, and I don't think Norwood would be a great fit. He's a smaller back who would have a harder time picking up yardage up the middle in crucial situations IMO. And please no one say "But Chris Johnson"...

Just to start, Brown and Benson will command a lot more money than they're worth, that's just the nature of the beast. Should they? No, but they will. They both also have a list of concerns that should make the Jets step back with the other teams before they pay any of it out. Norwood is a decent player, but not at all what the Jets will be looking for; in addition he'll likely be tagged because the Falcons aren't going to just let a player that could get them a draft pick walk out the door.

What you guys are missing is the fact that just because the Jets need to get a few certain positions doesn't mean it's the smartest option to get them certain places.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. If the Jets need to get a running back, the best way to obtain a top quality one FAR AND AWAY is the top portion of the NFL Draft. Same goes for pass-rusher.

If they need a 34 end or a safety to play, they should look to free agency or later in the draft. Guys that can play will be available there. Should they pass on a kid like JJ Watt if he's available at a high pick? No, because he'd represent good value, but just picking positions because they're the biggest need with generally lead to draft failure.

If someone's going to tell me that getting an older, retread back (all that's really available for free) and a 34 DE like Cameron Jordan or safety in the 1st is a better option than signing Cullen Jenkins/Dawan Landry and drafting Ryan Williams/Mikel Leshoure I'd say you're absolutely wrong.

The Jets right now have assets, and until the new CBA proves me wrong I'll believe that they are in a pretty good position for the upcoming draft.

If you don't think getting a running back is on par with those needs then I don't know what to tell you. Aggressive defensive teams can't be passing teams, not if they want to have any long term success at least. The running game eats clock, takes up time, and refreshes defenses to play the style they like to play. I think Sanchez can be a very good QB, but in 2011 he won't be carrying this team on his back, especially with one of the two big WRs likely gone.

You were absolutely right Magilla, the Jets at their best are a power rushing team. They have Greene, and he can be very good for stretches, but they still will be in serious need of a between the tackles threat. If they lose Braylon Edwards they certainly won't be getting a receiver of his caliber back, so they need to revert to the offense they had success with in 09 with Greene and Thomas Jones. That offense with a more experienced, intelligent QB in place will make things run a lot smoother.
