How many of you who added to this thread to complain about Coles' complaining in the story that started the thread actually read the part of the story that was quoted.

Nowhere does it say that Coles has complained since about week 6 of the season. He didnt complain about coming to the offseason workouts that prompted the story and the speculation that he might skip them is, as far as I can tell, only the opinion of the reporter.

And, as far as Coles complaining is concerned in general, I believe the sum total of his complaints were questions about training camp in which he said something to the effect that he wasnt looking forward to going through that again?

Read this carefully. The media and particularly the NY media like to stir up controversy to give themselves something to write about. Coles, because of his reputation for being outspoken, is just the easiest target. Why do you think he was so pissed at that weasal Cimini last season?

All the guy does is play hard, play hurt, and produce and because some dumb ass reporter implies that he was surprised that Coles attended the workouts people here jump all over the guy.

He just likes to run his mouth. Its all talk. He knows what he has to do once he blows off steam.

Coles may be a whiner, but he is probably a whiner you can live with. I think some of his comments are his sense of humor. His teammates don't seem to take his words literally. His effort in practice and on the field have always been good.

Sticking pins in your boss is not the same as undermining his authority. I had the impression that Mangini likes Coles.

Personally I'm happy we have a coach who take Cole's complaints for what they are and doesn't overreact. Coles is an extremely passionate and competitive. Mangini knows he has to give Coles some leeway to blow off steam on occasion.

And don't underestimate Chad's role in all of this I think Chad is a key person for keeping Coles centered and helping him channel his passion and competitive spirit in the right direction.

Coles is a solid player. When he gets injured he flies back to the field AND produces....
