I've always liked Carson.. I don't know what it is about comparing quarterbacks to others that also went to their alma maters.. USC recruited these guys cause they were elite.. just like all other schools do. People are so fascinated with comparing players, and building up all this hype. Honestly who the hell cares how Sanchez compares to Palmer. What we should be looking at is how he compares to his peers, the ones we had a chance to get.. but then again why should we even care about that. I just don't get it. USC or not the kid is wearing our jersey and going out their fighting for us, so why not just stand by him and let Sanchez be Sanchez.
I think something's still wrong with his arm/elbow. Which possibly happened due to the leg issue lingering over the years and possibly not using his body to throw correctly.
what do us guys say, cman50? Speaking only for me, cman50 , I say that cman50 is a frigging moron Personal Attack. Next time you will be banned
Gee Whiz, I didn't get the chance to blast this SMF before he got warned. Oh well, at least I don't have to waste my time explaining the purpose of an opinion thread. So, putting it as simply as I can, I really don't give a flying fuck what your opinion of me is sg3. Put me on ignore if you can find the option. Otherwise, try being a good citizen of TGG instead of a shithead and you might last awhile around here..If not, no great loss..
Don't even bother replying to clowns like that. The quality of poster in this forum has really degraded over the years, but I guess that comes hand in hand with its increasing popularity, and it's a nice inconvenience. We still can't get too excited about Sanchez. He ranks 16th in the league in Y/A, has a sub 60 completion percentage, and the defenses he's beat up on aren't clearly above average. With Pace likely out another week and Revis out two, this is going to be Sanchez opportunity to prove himself and carry this team. At this point, it's a little too early for "I told you so." -X-
This. He's still a second year QB, and he WILL have multiple interception games. Though he's improved since last season, he's not there yet until he can prove that he can carry the team.
you made your point with a nice personal attack unless SMF and shithead aren't a personal attack Like I said, I apologize for mine won't happen again
Wow, I am glad I missed this beauty of a thread. Surprisingly enough not every QB is perfect every game. For example Peyton Manning's sophomore year he had thrown 7 TD's and 5 picks through the first 3 games. Troy Aikman's sophomore year he threw 5 picks and 1 TD through the first 3 games. Finishing that year with 11 TD's and 18 picks. Could go and on, but I think you get the point. Side note on our boy Sanchize- So far, among rookie QB's in the history of the NFL, Sanchez has the highest total playoff rating as well as the highest playoff rating in a single game. How bout dem Jets??
IOW So far Sanchez has shown every little bit to give the impression that he may be the next Big Time QB. Money Player? Check. Effort in the film room ? Check. Clearly learns from and eliminates Mistakes? Check. Superior Physical ability ? Check. Leadership ? Check. It factor ? Check.
Tanx for the reminder old buddy. Every now and then, even us oldtimers need that. If Sanchez keeps up this pace, even with a setback or two against an elite defense, its still way ahead of last year's pace. Right now, Its Sanchez and Palmer. That could change by year's end but for right now, its all good.
I think this is the type of game we need Sanchez to play well in. It's a game the Jets are expected to walk over their opponent so there are chances for lapses. If he has another fantastic game this week I think the odds are that he is on the verge of becoming very good. If he has a trap game I think it's a step back. The elite QB's in this game don't only play good against the great teams but also against the bad ones. Granted that happened over time but most of those guys didn't have the arsenal of playmakers that Sanchez has and will have.
"One thing is for certain. It would be a blessing if he outplays his rookie contract. I'd settle for him playing up to his rookie contract. Let the flaming begin... " I've always respected you and would never flame you. BUT ... why are you losing confidence in Sanchez? I thought the Jets made a mild reach when they drafted him. With that said, it does take a few years for young QBs to develop. Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco had a lot of success their rookie years but they are still experiencing growing pains.
He's not. It was a reactionary post to the first game. I was looking for another post in which someone said that every USC QB is garbage, Sanchez included, and that he'd never amount to anything. I couldn't find that, but saw this and thought it was funny. Cman's a good poster. Everyone knows that.
TGA, come visit us a bit more often in the Jets forum.. As IJR said, it was a reaction to game one and I'm wondering just how muich of that should have been put on the plan instead of the player. As you follow thru the thread, you'll see the props being given to #6. He's growing up right before our eyes and like I said, I'd settle for him playing up to his rookie contract. If he keeps up this pace, he'll far out-perform it and that can't be nothing but good for us..
Funny you should say that Rich. I agree wholeheartly but from a different POV. Sanchez got his ass handed to him last year by these guys and now he gets some payback. Its important to have a short memory as a Pro, but some things you need to remember if for no other reason, your own piece of mind. I hope Sanchez put 5tds on the Jills to make up for the INT's from last season. That would certainly put alot of the talk to rest about his progressive/regressive year 2.
