No i dont think he's worth a 1st. I say the jets should go after another Marshall, Richard Marshall the corner for the panthers. I believe they tendered him a 2nd rounder i wouldn't mind giving up a 2nd rounder for a proven good corner and he's still only 25 after four seasons.
Marshall is supremely talented but is one fuck up away from a season long suspension. I'm not sure I'd want to risk a first rounder on a guy with a long history and hope that he keeps his nose clean.
You know what ace, this did not seem to be a bad idea to me until I got to your post. I forgot we gave up two picks for Edwards. I agree this move would make no sense. We need to find a slot receiver in the draft. I like the kid from Texas Shipley...
BM is not worth a first let alone a first and a third! Period! I agree with the others who said we have already gave up draft picks in this draft for a receiver and can't afford to give up more!
Jets wanted Marshall last year. I could see them doing this even with Edwards still on the team. They could also try and trade the pick for a CB. They have all the money in the world but no chance at signing and worthwhile FAs worth a damn. I would be shocked if they don't trade that pick for some proven WR or CB.
Brandon Marshall is worth much more than just a 1st. But we don't have a huge need at the position to spend a 1st round pick on.
who here has ESPN insider? on the front page of espn.com it says RUMORS: Jets could make move for Marshall someone post the article
"There's been a lot of speculation over the past few months as to where Brandon Marshall will wind up in 2010, with some of the candidates found at right. As far as a trade price tag, the ceiling for this will be a first round draft pick, as NFL Insider Adam Schefter tweeted that this is the level at which he was tendered by the Broncos. Marshall could go for even less, depending on a trade that another team works out with Denver. One destination that will be mentioned for any receiver this offseason is Baltimore. The team is still bankrupt at the position even with Donte' Stallworth in town, and in order for Joe Flacco to properly develop, he needs to have a stronger cast of pass-catchers. But will Marshall's character give the team second thoughts? Not according to what owner Steve Bisciotti told Aaron Wilson of National Football Post. Given the lowered price tag, the Jets have re-emerged as a possibility in the buzz we've heard on Thursday. There's still a need for a legit No. 1 WR, and Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum is not opposed to pulling off big deals." Nothing but more speculation. Although if they are willing to part with Brandon Marshall for less than a first, that would be rather tempting.
Is banging a hooker worth herpes? Youlll probably answer that question the same as the question posed in this thread
ESPN Insider is bullshit, they just speculate and never have anything useful to say. If there is really big news you don't need ESPN Insider to find out.
Yeah pretty much, but it's nice for the mock drafts and Scouting reports. Considering I got two years of insider and the magazine, which is also pretty lame, for $4 it's been worth it.
Yeah nfl post had a similar thing on the Jets/Ravens trying to get him but it was almost completely speculation yet again. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/DMN-Its-time-for-the-tender-game.html
Haha..probably but I can't under and circumstance see them holding that pick and actually using it on somebody at number 29..that just isn't how they play the game.
Do yourself a favor and ignore those stupid teaser headlines on ESPN Insider. They hardly ever mean anything valid. They are there to trick you into buying a subscription.
since we got Cromartie...we aren't going after Nnamdi anymore... there's a rumor Rhodes for Bolden but I prefer sending our 1st round pick to denver for Marshall....
I'd prefer you would stop bumping threads with stupid ideas for trading away our top pick on a position that is not a major need...or a minor need...or a need period. Switch your Madden game off and go troll another website.
