I still remember in the Browns game, I believe it was Charlie Steiner, saying, "The New York Jets are going to the AFC Championship." Ugh!!!!
Not really b/c Denver controlled the rest of the game after we took 10-0 lead. it was quickly 10-7 and 10-10 and they dominated 4th qtr. At Pitt we were one of 2 makeable FGs away from winning and advancing. Plus had we beat Den we likely win the SB, I think if we beat Pitt NE would have beaten us the next week but I wish we had the shot.
Injuries killed us that year. I remember in the wildcard game vs KC Pat Ryan got a big gainer on a QB draw late that put the game away. They tried the exact same play the following week in a big situation and it got stuffed.
we had a million injuries and O'Brien was one of them and tried to play through but he was shot late in the year. If Ryan doesn't get hurt at Cle we win that game.
Kosar took a brutal beating that day and he said he played most of the second half/OT with bruised ribs. After the game his dad called him immediately and instead of telling him he did a great job he yelled at him for laying on the ground too long after one of the Jets knocked him down hahaha That loss really hurts though
Damn I feel like I'm in a roundtable discussion with senior citizens in this thread. Just kidding guys!
I remember Walton was up Jim Kensil's ass and was the guy who threw Walt Michaels under the bus when Walt accused Al Davis of cheating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One if the most crushing losses for me as a long time Jet fan. We had that game won if it wasn't for the bonehead plays of Gastinuea and Carl Howard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We never got into FG range in OT. It was Moseley who missed. All we were doing was going three and out every single possession.
