Fantasy hoops and baseball owners probably know where I'm going with this..

Maybe it's just me but is anyone else sick of H2H? I really don't see the point of going up against a team every single week to determine the "winner". Why not just tally up the points and decide the best team at the end of the year, as it is almost always done in hoops and baseball?

I mean a guy in one of my money leagues is 3-3 but has scored the 3rd most points so far. He shouldn't be ranked 7th where he's at but he should be ranked 3rd. It's common sense. H2H is just one massive crapshoot where luckboxes are free to reign.

Roto Hoops and Baseball require a HELLLLLL of a lot more skill than H2H football. Discuss.

i like h2h. i can see why you would like the tally up everything and count it at the end too though. h2h though especially for football is also a good choice. i think h2h only really works with football too. as all the players involved only play once a week. these guys dont miss games for rest or anything like in other sports.

also h2h gives the fantasy game the same feel as real football to me. "any given sunday" not only applys to real football, but fantasy as well. the worst team in the league can beat the best team if thats how the players perform that week. the h2h format also makes for drama just like real football. if we just tallied up the scores at the end of the season by the last few weeks there would most likely be one person clearly ahead of the pack. with h2h a team has to be built to continue to do well until the last week of the season.

i see merits in both. i think h2h works very well in FF but definitely not as well in other fantasy games. i think its a matter of personal preference.

A valid point. H2H leagues definitely tempt the scales of fairness in the direction of random, but that's what makes them fun.

I played in BigPoppaNaich's points league last year. It was fun and different, but the H2H just makes for more excitement.

Its all luck in head to head. It does make the league more fun and enjoyable, but its also unfair most of the time, since the best team almost never wins.

In football head to head is fun. You have a new opponent each week. It is luck a little bit, but it is more fun than tallying points all year with no real opponent each week.

Wow... and I thought I saw some bad luck with 1 of my teams. That is just horrible...

Edit: How the hell though... His 1 win he totally blew out his opponent that week and then thereafter he played the week's highest scorer when he was the 2nd highest scorer? Tough break either way tho lol

    3 High RollaZ Loss 123.68 - 127.02
    4 THREE BLIND HOES Loss 155.83 - 158.72
    5 PigSkinBallers Loss 161.53 - 172.05
    6 DC Steeler Nation Loss 165.73 - 193.08
    Code:
    Tampa Wallpaper schedule-
    1 impact players Loss 136.43 - 141.70
    2 Alabama Crackers Win 128.27 - 114.18
    3 THREE BLIND HOES Loss 157.25 - 164.28
    4 DC Steeler Nation Win 129.92 - 124.02
    5 theShow Loss 111.63 - 169.08
    6 PigSkinBallers Win 132.37 - 122.00

Tampa Wallpaper is my team. The league has been in existence since 2004. I have made the playoffs ever year. My 2008 team is my worst one, but the schedule has been extremely kind to me. As a result, I might be able to make the playoffs six years in a row.

In my other keeper league, I have the same problem- my team can't score. (Both teams were ruined primarily due to the injury woes of Carson Palmer and Brian Westbrook. Never again will I have the same top players on two teams. First time I've done this in 9 years of fantasy football and I paid the price for it.)
The difference there is that my opponents score and score often. My team has dropped to 0-7 there.

Getting back to the Tampa Wallpaper. I will win again to move to 4-3. I have had disgusting performances from my QB position. I had one good game from J.T. O'Sullivan and 6 garbage games from other QBs (Carson Palmer, Gus Frerotte, Brian Griese, Seneca Wallace.)

Bolt Action will fall to 1-6. He didn't have a great game in Week 7. However, once again his opponent had a huge game.

My QB situation is so bad in that league that I accepted a deal for Derek Anderson for Laveranues Coles after yesterday's games. (Coles has been with my team for years, but he sat on my bench all season thus far. I have good WRs.)
Anderson's stat line of 14 of 37 for 136 and a TD pass would be a step up for my team.
