Aikman making the Hall of Fame is a testament to the NFL marketing machine. Blonde haired, blue eyed quarterback of America's team. First round pick, NFL golden boy. Supreme marketing value. How do you explain a first ballot induction for a guy who has such a poor TD to INT ratio? This guy made the Pro Bowl in '96 throwing only 12 TD's against 13 INT's...RIDICULOUS 1991- Pro Bowl- 11 TD's, 10 INT's. 1994- Pro Bowl- 13 TD's, 12 INT's. Now, you can make the argument that he played in a conservative offense to buoy his inability to break into the top 10 in any major category, but there is no excuse for his terrible decision making, particularly since he had one of the most physically superior offensive units of all time, complete with Hall of Fame running back and receiver. You simply can't leave a Dallas Cowboy who won that many rings out of the Hall of Fame, but you can't simply usher him in as if he were the greatest of all time. None of his individual accomplishments with that team stand out. -X-
it woulda been great for Moon to have the talent around him that Aikman had. and im not saying that Aikman is a sole product of surrounding talent. I like the whole class they brought in this yr, people debate these things cause theres still so many players not in that should be.
Moon is not a Hall of Famer. Well, he is now, but that's a terrible move. Moreover, I find it ridiculous that anyone cite what he did in the CFL as somethign worth putting on his record. They don't count AAA stats when considering baseball players, and so they shouldn't with football players. -X-
I haven't seen lopsided results like this since the poll about renaming the Best Non-Jet Poster Award
