we only beat 2 playoff bound teams a year ago and one was in week 2. People are getting too crazy, a month ago we were done, a week ago we were talking 1st rd byes and now we are going to be lucky to make the playoffs? This has been a crazy year in the AFC, one week a team looks great and the next they look terrible. This team will be fine, they play their best when their backs are up against the wall. I'm concerned about tomorrow b/c of the quick turnaround after such a bad loss but this team will win be at least 11-5.
Come on junc, the final score was an accurate indication of how the Pats dominated that game. As for Sanchez QB play being "fine", he is the 28th ranked QB in the NFL with a QBR rating of only 36.4 through week 10. The five QB's he is ranked above are Kolb, Beck, Painter, Tebow and Gabbert. If the Jets are going to make any type of run over the last 7 games, Sanchez has to step up his game big-time.
The game was not dominated, it was a 1 score game int he 4th qtr. We had some unforced errors that helped us lose. NE played better w/o a doubt, they were the better team but there was not a domination the other night. Total QBR is the biggest joke of a stat there is. He does have to play better, he was playing really well utnil the other night and our OL was playing really well until the other night. He will be fine, the O will be fine and the team will be fine.
The QBR rating is a very good indicator (especially now after a 10-week sample size) of a QB's overall performance in some very key areas during a football game. Is it a "joke" that the 3 top rated QB's based on QBR are Rogers, Brees and Brady? QBR is a much better measure than the old QB rating.
No it's not, it's subjective. I don't need total QBR or QBR tot ell me what my eyes can see. Romo is #4, is he the 4th best QB? Fitzpatrick is in the top 10, he had a couple of good games early and has struggled most of the season- is he a top 10 QB? I like the idea of it but it is a complete joke.
I agree that QBR is useless on a one-game snapshot. But like I said earlier, a 10-game sample size is a pretty good indicator.
Romo was 23/26, 270 yards, 3 TD's and 0 INT's against the Bills last week. If Brady did that against the Bills, the Pats would be sitting at 7-2. Fitzpatrick has definitely slipped the past few games, but his earlier performances were damn good and that is why he is in the top 10.
TQR or whatever the fuck is a ridiculous calculation and I would love to see the insides of it. That stat lost all credibility week one when McNabb throws for 47 0/0 and Sanchez throws 330+ 2/2 and McNabb is ranked higher. I don't expect MS to be ranked in the top 10. However, when the TQR stats "claim" that a 10 yard pass in the 4th Q holds more eight that a 40 yard pass in the 1st Q, then rank a QB who drives a team down the field to win the game is ranked below a QB who threw for under 50 yards? Tha fuck is that??? That Stat is junk....
Romo has also cost his team 2 games directly and been awful in their other 2 losses, Sanchez has not directly cost us any games and has played well enough to win in 2 of our 4 losses. Fitz had a nice start, since that first month he hasn't been good and lately he's been terrible.
Of course a run is in the works. I am sick of "runs" and let downs. I want to be a top team. #1 or #2 seeds. These runs can only take you so far.
Thank you! Especially runs against "nobodies" like that actually means shit when the reality is, this team is suppose to beat those teams IF we're to believe this team is as good as advertised. I'll say this: when it comes to the "runs", we always seem to get them when we play the good teams...
tebow is completing 44% of his passes, and has a qb rating of .1 higher than sanchez. he completed 2 passes sunday, and had a qb rating of over 100. fuck off with the qb rating nonsense.
this team isnt playing winning football. blame the schedule blame the coaches blame the players. no matter how you look at it the jets are only a good team in THEORY at this point. i dont see them winning out and I dont see them getting the help they need for a WC even if they go 10-6. whats almost as annoying as SOJF's is the new attitude that calling this team out for being shitty and playing half ass is somehow the sign of a SOJF. I'm one of those fans that believes we have a good chance to win every game no matter the circumstances. Currently this is not a playoff quality team, and if we managed to get in the playoffs this is a 1 and done if Ive ever seen one.
Our run defense is a shadow of itself these last two years. Bart Scott's replacement needs to be drafted this offseason to start the year after or even steal snaps next year. and without a legit pass rush Rex can scheme all he wants, he will continue to be exposed whenever a legit QB plays against his skeleton drill floating zone of 7 on 7. I love Rex but the DB boner needs to stop and we need a pass rush.
yet a week ago all the "experts" were talking division title and how we passed the Pats. Don't let one bad game fool you, this team is still more than capable of a big time run especially in a year w/ no great teams in the conference.
My point is to take the next step we had to fight for the division. We fell flat on our face when it mattered most. At best this is a weakened version of last yrs team with a better Kyle Wilson. You also fail to acknowledge what I said about the lack of pass rush even once we were to get to the playoffs. Combined with a Jeckyll and Hyde offensive output. one bad game? how about 4?
Our pass rush has been better this year than last year. We have had one awful game against Bal, the other 3 losses we had chances to win each of them. There are certainly concerns, I'm not sitting here guaranteeing another deep playoff run but we have the pieces to do it and knowing how this team has responded before I'm confident we'll at least make the playoffs then we'll see what happens from there. keep in mind the WC winners will likely have to face Oakland and Houston w/ Matt leinart(or Tennessee) so there's a great shot to get back to the div rd and who knows what can happen from there?
