Oh and I think if this is true Rex is getting way more public blame than he deserves. If anything, he would be being a company guy right now and probably pissed about the lack of control. I would also believe he has assurances that he will be back because I don't see why he would care about the 2013 cap limitations if he thought he was really on the hot seat right now.

It's not about the 5 million to Woody...its about what it does to the cap in 2013 only. Denver didn't care about Tebow's escalating contract because they had boat loads of cap space which they used to sign Manning's massive contract. The actual amount is minor but that fact that the Jets could sign nothing but scrubs, maybe not even a first round pick, means that you cannot let Tebow hit that mark. If the cap situation were different, they would not care about it whatsoever.

only 2013 is guaranteed, jets have multiple option yrs after 2013. Suckchez will be here in 2013 and then will be let go after 2013 assuming he still sucks.

The article really would give a good rational why tebow is not getting a chance, they can't pay the two worst qb in the league almost 20million!!

Guys this is the reason we will never hire a good HC unless they are a rookie HC. No respectable HC is going to want to work for Woody…ever.

I tried to point this out a few months ago and everyone thought I was crazy. As long as he does this stuff we will never improve and 2010 was as good as we are going to see for a long long time.

No respectable Head Coach is going to want to work under Tannebaum.

If I were Woody, I'd fire him right the fuck now, to be honest.

He is only doing what Woody tells him to do.

If Woody didn't force Tebow on him that would be a reasonable thing to do.

Honestly, had we not done some grossly stupid thing of resigning Sanchez for THIS much money, forcing Tebow on us would not have been a bad idea.

Sanchez performs poorly, we put in a guy who wins games. However, what SOMEONE in the FO did not catch was that if Sanchez performs poorly, we can't put in Tebow who wins games, because if he plays too much, we pay out a boatload of money.

Honestly, the only jokes in this organization are Tanny and Sanchez.

True. This is more about the Sanchez extension to me. Extending him and guaranteeing him more money, at that time, was a reach. And it's blowing up in the FO's faces and Rex gets to eat the turd sandwich all by himself with limited decision making power

I mean, that they are subbing in Ducasse every third series just to save 400K against next year's cap show's there is a problem with how this organisation was operated this year. Coaches must be allowed to coach freely without these kinds of concerns.

After finding this out, the only two people I would fire are Tannebaum and Sanchez. Sanchez for his obvious regression and Tannebaum for his retarded as fuck decisions that probably set this organization back a good two years.

So we could have an actual backup in Stanton instead of a fake backup who we don't want to pay so he can't backup because woody wanted headlines....

they could just put in McElroy (or a farm animal, or a mechanical catapult for god's sake) but they would have to explain why they don't put in Tebow. If it was all explained, people would be questioning Tannebaum ability publicly way more than already. I think there would be a general media consensus that he should be fired. The FO is hamstringing the coaches ability to make decisions in a critical aspect of the game. But its not just Tebow's contract, it's both his and Sanchez' together, coupled with the tiny cap space in 2013, that make this an ugly situation.

People need to question the front office. I say go for it and start McElroy. Force the FO to answer 'why not sooner' or 'why not Tebow'. When their response is some stupid nonsense, the pressure will be high and Woody will hopefully be forced to clean up shop.

I honestly think we are a QB, some few pieces on offense, and a decent FO away from being a legit contender.

Woody has to know all of this too. Even the most non-attentive of owners would have asked someone in the FO why they don't bench Sanchez when fan anger is rising and people are calling your team a joke.

Well, I hope that conversation results in them being put on very short notice...

And in Tannebaum having milk crates in front of his office.

this article to some extent explains why Tebow is being used the way he is. Not the not in at 3rd and 1 part, but the give him a series or at least a few plays strung together part. The more he played early in the season, the less he can play at the end of the season. If the switch is made with 4 games left that will be pretty much proof positive that this was the problem all along

Totally agree. The Jets roster is much better than perception right now. The defense could still be great if time of possession went up and turnovers went down (and this is without Revis too). The ineptitude of the offense is destroying this team right now. Even having an offense as productive as Arizona or St. Louis would have gotten this team more wins at this point.

so essentially what may happen is that sancheese will get this week and then be replaced against the patsies on thanksgiving.... i feel like throwing up.

if this owner and dipshit douchebag cap expert fucked up this team to this point i almost cant bother to watch them anymore. it shows a blatant disregard for all things good in the world and a penchant for being greedy cock suckers.

Ehh. I think the offense is showing it's lack of talent. I think the defense is showing it's inconsistency at the LB position and lack of pass rush. We let up way too many big 3rd downs, most them beating the LB or the QB having all day back there

Special Teams makes no sense to me.
