Thanks for posting, I read the whole thing. I remember my father pointing out Bachelors III to me as we drove past.

you were around for it, that's very different and I do appreciate that team and appreciate they won probably the most significant game in the history of pro football but I want to see a damn SB in my lifetime. when I do I will appreciate SB III even more.

That's the spirit! Don't let those Giant fans have you believe the '58 Giants-Colts "Greatest Game Ever Played" OT tilt at Yankee Stadium held that distinction. I sure as hell don't recall that game other than watching B&W film of Unitis, Berry & co. waltz 80 yards down the field against the Giants in OT, ending with Alan Amechie running through a hole you could drive a truck through…..followed by a mob of Baltimore Colts - Baltimore Colts fans - swarming onto the field celebrating. The only noteworthy thing about that game as far as I'm concerned? Don Maynard played in it.

I had the great fun and excitement of growing up with this> So, I guess I can understand the younger fans on here not really wanting to hear about it. But please, don't kick this guy down. He was a great player and deserved to be in the Hall of Fame. There is nothing wrong with having a few heroes of the past for a franchise to build upon. Unfortunately, we have taken way too long to build on this.

Well Junc MHO is just like me since SB3 the NYJs will not win another SB so long as dear old Woody is the owner (he may actually be worse then Hess). So better prepare yourself for a long, long, long drought just like I endured since 69 or start watching video of SB3 over & over again to see what it is like to see your team play & win a SB. IMHO you only shot will be to organize NYJ fans to rally around the people who have erected the anti JI & Woody billboards or the persons hiring the aero plane that flies over the stadium towing anti JI banners since they R the only NYJ fans at this time that I see willing to show there total dislike of the owner & management of the NYJs. All the other fans IMHO are just hoping & praying that every next season will be THE YEAR but hope & pray in the NFL gets U NOWHERE. If U wish to to see "your team" win a championship then I suggest transferring your fandom from the NYJs to a upper echelon NFL team other then the NYJs & maybe U will C "your team" win a championship in your lifetime. JMHO

Can I ask U why U feel the way U posted? Can U say for sure, sure that 45 years from next season they have still NOT become SB champs? Woody's track record right now is pretty well established 15 losing seasons & counting. I would think in the world outside pro FB Woody would been have long ago been fired for being a failure. Those people IMHO are true passionate NYJ fans who have erected the billboards & hired the airplane. I see now they will be handing out crying towels B4 the Pat game. Myself I am a STHer since 65 & was at the NYJ/Oak PO game @ Shea Stadium in Dec 68 so I am not some rookie who does not know the whole history of the NYJs. Yes I have a copy of SB3 & watch it from time to time & still get Poed when the Colts recover a on sides kick in the 4th qtr of that game.

Why? I guess I just felt in the Christmas spirit of things.

Seriously champ, I too am a long time suffering Jet fan and understand your frustration. But what I took issue with was that you'd suggest to someone to renounce their 'Jet faith' and bail on the Jets for another team. Tha's a double   in my book. Like the song says "when you're a Jet you're a Jet all the way, from your first cigarette to your last dying day." No exceptions.

And yes it's been so long that I've had to transfer my vinyl 12 inch "Super Jets" LP to CD

I can still hear him too Matt:

"Snell at the 5.....Snell at the 3......Snell, touchdown!!.....Matt Snell on a wide sweep to the left......and this crowd is standing and cheering as the Jets have drawn first blood!"

Yeah I can always bring it over to my son if need be to transfer it from tape to CD. BTW I was at the parade that is on that record as well as in the stands for the 69 opener when they raised that WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP banner & I stood proud & loud when it reached it's zenith. To me outside of the PO game vs Oak in 68 the best game I ever attended was in New Haven in Aug 69 between the NYGs & NYJs (the 1st game ever between them) & we whipped there behinds & got the NYGs HC fired that nite after the game

You can see Champ in the parade footage, just look for the guy going  the whole time, even though he's deliriously happy.
