If Saban and Belicheck are blood brothers than where was the uproar when Saben spent 4 days with Rex in camp? Seems like Saban would have seen a lot just by being there.
I remember being really annoyed by it, and probably said something, but I'm not digging into 2010 to find it. But I have always been of the belief that Saban was the only fucking reason the Pats got Welker in that trade in the first place, and that has always pissed me off.
I hate that he handed it out to anyone, but the only evidence of that is Saban. But it stands to reason that if he gave it to Saban of all people during a year when he invited many coaches to Florham Pk, that Saban wasn't the only one. I'm sure that the roach colony known as the NYJ beat corps will do their dookie diligence and find more, especially since it would paint Rex in a negative light. And I'm not even saying that handing out a 2009 or 2010 playbook is earth shattering, but that playbook gives opposing coaches an in to the state of mind of a coach, and while it doesn't hand them the gameplan, it does give an edge to smart coaches.
If they had our playbook last year then the Pats played horrendous football cause we could have easily beaten them twice if not for Geno's three picks in the fourth quarter.
Exactly, honestly it's not a big deal that people are making it out to be, just another attempt for Pettine to stir the pot. Any respect for him I had for him is pretty much gone now. Rumors were that Pettine was one of the key leaks 2 seasons ago just before he decided to leave and accept the Bills DC position. But if Rex did give his D playbook to Sabin a long time friend of BB it's asinine. Esp when Brady brags about having the Jets playbook at Welker's wedding. One of these days things like this (and there are a lot of them with Rex) are going to catch up with him and he's going to be outside looking in.
Well it's obvious that Pettine is trying to stir the pot, he's been trying to do that since before he left. I have my reservations about Rex, but he brought a poisoned well with him as DC. NEVER hire an unproven coach from the high school ranks who nobody knows about. Pettine may even end up being the downfall of Manziel, not that I'm complaining.
Brady hardly bragged about having the book. Mike Smith asked him about it and he said maybe we did, maybe we didn't. Sounds like kind of joking around to me.
