    What a load of drivel.

I bet you that had we kicked a FG there at least 15 people would have been in the game thread stating that "you don't beat the Pats with Field Goals", "Mangini is a pussy" or "Here we go with the conservative shit again". :/

Of course, but those posts we try to ignore. They would be right in normal game situations, but with the weather and how the Pats offense was struggling, 3 points would have mean a lot.

The problem is that people accept not making mistakes as getting the job done. The objective is to score, not to not make mistakes. Do you get all fired up when you drive to work in the morning and don't get in an accident?

This is a veteran quarterback we're talking about and people want to "praise" him for not making mistakes. We should praise him when he makes plays.

I agree but people are so anti-Pennington now its bordering on obsession. Also, as the 2nd half of my post pointed out, a QB can only do so much, receivers must catch the ball, coaches have to make correct calls when to put up 3 or when to run an option on 4th and 2... The Jets moved the ball on the Pats, but 3 points were given up on a 4th down call, a TD was dropped in the end zone, those things cannot be blamed on the QB.

Yep... team sport. You can't put everyones job on Penny. He did his part by taking care of the ball and not throwing some picks, getting us in position to score a few times. Hell he had a nice pass in the end zone even at one point, but he (Chad) managed to bobble the ball out of bounds as well. Then there was the reception over the middle that he managed to fumble, and don't forget about the shanked field goal he put up too.
