I'm easy any which way. An extra game is great for the hype, the young guys and confidence heading into off season, even if you lose. Plus playoffs is fun no matter what.

    Meaningful games in December.

Eagles and Dallas both have to win next week. Do that, and ONE of Cincy/Pitt will be at 8 losses.

Of course, we have to win too. I think we can do this.

True, cause I would rather make the playoffs then play for some draft pick that we always seem to mess up a good portion of the time.

We need to focus on a win next week with or without sanchez and pray to tebow for the rest.

Yep, rather have a shot in the playoffs than make no noise at all. After last year, I realized I would defeinitely rather get really close to a SB and lose, than not have a shot at all

I wish I could see us winning out. If we do that, we will be in. Steelers will lose next week and Cincy will lose twice at least.

We need the other way around, Steelers losing twice and CIN once.

I do not expect to make the playoffs nor am I sure I want to.
However according to the ESPN playoff generator.
If we win the next 3 we can still get in even if both Cincy ( @Phi) and Pitt (@Dal) win next week.

    1) Both win next week, we need Bengals to beat Pitt, then Ravens to beat Cin and Browns to beat Pitt

    2) If both lose next week- Bengals beat Pitt - Bengals lose week 17 regardless of Pitt

    3) If both lose next week - Pitt beats Bengals , Pitt loses week 17 regardless of Bengals

    4) Next week Cincy wins, Pitt Loses - (Bengals beat Pitt and lose week 17) or Steelers beat Bengals and Steelers lose week 17 regardless of Cincy

    5) Next week Pitt wins, Cincy Loses - Cincy HAS to beat Pitt in week 16 and both have to lose week 17

Bottom line is as long as we win - if Pitt loses next week we will be alive going into week 17.

absolutely...even if the jets have been underwhelming this year, the goal has to be getting into the playoffs...you just never know what can happen once you get in...the jets could very well go 1 and done if their are in, but the stars could also align...

if the jets were mathematically eliminated id be all in for tanking for draft position.

Just look at (cough) the Giants last year. Although I'm not expecting anything, hell I'm not even expecting us to win three in a row to begin with. Even being alive for Week 17 I'd take right now, that would be way beyond any of my wildest dreams last week and make the rest of the season interesting.

Jake Locker ruined our chances. The Colts played horribly today. Two Sanchesque picks in the second half saved them.

And it sucks, because I could see them being that team that collapses and opens a door.

the San Diego game scares me, Rivers is a great qb and could go off at any time regardless of their record. They have a very good rb and Gates at TE, if we can get past them we might actually do the impossible!

Yeah it sucks that that the Lions and Titans had to choke like they did. For being 9-4 I really don't think they are that good. I mean, even the Jets crushed them earlier in the year

They are a purely average team that has gotten the better of their opponents in close games. Just look at their schedule, pretty much every win has been squeaked out by them.
