    A couple of things:

    That "terrible 1970's song" was actually released years before the year 1970. Capitol released it July, 1967.

    That 'terrible' song racked up a total of EIGHT Grammy Awards and came away winning three of them.

    The song achieved rare status in reaching the top of the Billboard pop charts, the R&B charts as well as the Country & Western charts,

    True but I am not kidding dude. I don't get half the jokes. My two bastard twin boys make fun of me all the time. They are about to finish high school and they claim I don't get any jokes and they stopped telling me their jokes. :(
