I think the mods are doing just fine.

If you want to hold hands and sing kumbia, this isn't the place to do it. This forum is for discussion, debate, and occasional arguements about the good the bad, and the ugly aspects of our favorite footbal team.

The negativity on this board is part of the give and take that has made it the success that it is. Calling for the censorship or outright banning of those that you fail to win over to your point of view is the most negative thing that I can think of.

Rather than point fingers at others, if you can't stand the heat just get out of the kitchen.

In the past few years, the darksiders' mantra has been that despite the playoff appearances in 01, 02, and 04, the team failed because the SB is the only outcome worth celebrating. There was also a lot of controversy over Edwards and Bradway.

A "realist" this year is someone who realizes that the Jets are rebuilding. The OL is completely revamped and will start two rookies. The starting QB coming off two shoulder operations and the likely back up is a rookie. The team's heart and soul - Curtis Martin - appears to be done. The best defensive player (Abraham) was traded. There is a new HC, a new GM, and new offensive and defensive schemes.

The realist realizes that all of the above adds up to a probable difficult season. A win total of 6 or more should be considered a success. Therefore, why get upset when the Jets lose a meaningless preseason game? Why trash the QBs? Why trash rookie OLs? Why trash the coordinators? Why trash the RBs? We all can see what the Jets have in this team.

And while I am as passionate as anybody about the Jets, having suffered through 40 seasons as a fan and 25 as a season ticket holder, the bottom line is that I love this team and I love football. I look forward to every season because this is a diversion. It is not my job and it is not life or death. It is supposed to be fun. So everybody lighten up and let's see where this new regime takes this new Jet team. Anybody who expects a serious playoff run before 2008 just doesn't know the game and should stick to Madden and Fantasy Football.

You talk about how post counts mean nothing, which I totally agree with. You have now reminded us twice on how you go back to the cavemen days of tgg...isnt that the same thing?

What exactly is your point. What is important about when you joined..or if I have 10000 posts.

Am I the only one that finds it funny when reading negative posts all the time? Isnt that half the reason we keep coming back here to blast those that are so negative its sickening...and reply to those who have been out in the sun(shiners) way too long?

Is this a message board of ideas (even if they are dumb..stupid..or excellent)?

Has anyone ever been to a knick message board? An Eagle message board?

And then you think people are defending or supporting a guy like Winston because post counts? Then you go on to say that he "adds nothing to the conversation"?

    Who the hell are you.

I have read many posts in this section and the bullshit section....and let me tell you something...whether I agree or disagree with him...he is one of the most on the money posters on this site. I even thought that about him when he had 10 posts...post counts?

Now Im sure Winston wont be crazy about me "defending" him...because number 1, he doesnt need it and number 2, thats not his style. Well..tough.

Now maybe if you get your posts up to 1000, we might just give you the time of day.

i have absolutely no problems discussing the teams problems...thats not what i was referring to...im referring to threads like "Is mangini another Kotite"...or "Chad finally did it" ( a thread talking about how he sucks and hangs out receivers) or everyone saying we will get moped up all year and will be lucky to win 4 games...i cant beleive people here actually are looking forward to next years draft already...why even be a jets fan if you wont enjoy the regular season, have some faith and maybe it will play out better then we all anticipated...for goodness sake we havent even played a game yet:drunk:

Hang in there Rochester... there is a reason I hardly pop in after the draft and especially during preseason. People want to over analyze everything. It's funny because people want to complain about everything... look at Yankee fans, they don't win a title since 00 and it's A Rod's fault, they lose 2 out 3 to Seattle and it's A Rod's fault, Pluto lost it's status as a planet and it's A Rod's fault

If you think it's bad now wait till we beat Tennesse week 1 and get pasted by New England week 2, it'll be Fire Mangini all over the place.

Your right about one thing, if somebody is wishing harm on one of our players they aren't a fan, they are a sick bastard and should seek some help.

It's been tough growing my post count this offseason, if a couple of "lightweights" (lower post count with the same great content) want to pick fights with me it's just that much more off season fun. Once the season starts it's going to be all football all the time.

While I agree with you about the mangini/kotite thread...the chad thread was brilliant.

It reminded me of the baseball coach..and my mind is going blank who it was, that pulled a pitcher because he feared for the players in the field.

Any Jet fan that hasnt held his breath a couple times when chad floats one of those passes that not only make the receiver wait a couple minutes...but also have the nerve to make the receiver jump for it..havent watched many Jet games.

Perhaps posters like you should make up guidelines on whats in..or out. Im being sarcastic...but you do realize that people have the right to bitch..even if you and I dont agree with it right?

I mean, this is a message board...and while I understand your frustration over some of the idiotic threads..there are many good threads...so you just have to pick which ones to be a part of.

THANK THE GODS SOMEONE IS ON MY SIDE!
He is completely right, stop bitching, if you are going to give up shut up about it, and root for them like it's our superbowl year, because they sure as hell are going to play like it.

I find when it comes to darksiders, many things involved become lame.

    Noobies speak

This sums up my feeling here as an almost impartial observer due to noobieness...I come to this board for discussion and to be amused by entertaining give and take....This whole subtext of the concept of judging posters via number of course is discouraging to new members and not going to give this board new blood....matter of fact...I notice few middle number posters....cause and effect?....anyway...i'm not formenting here just pointing out that forums are for fun...and as long as this isnt a weekly home of the "Patriots Suck" threads I expect to hang around for a while.

Great post and may I add that even though I loved Stanley Morgan and Babe Parilli the Patriots do suck.

sorry...didnt mean to say middle posters..I mean people with LOW numbers of posts,,,where are your 300's and 500's....?..Look...I've been in chat rooms and boards before...the senior members tend to rule and show, lets just say tone, that some posters can't handle. If you want discussion limited to the people you know, then expect dull redundant chat...obviously this board has more than that...I'm just pointing out that a little new blood is a good thing

Gotta learn to ignore it dude. Its always been this way to some degree... I dont even feel like its particularly bad around here right now. Just gotta look for the threads started by people who have something sensible to say.

Business as usual for the most part.

You are a legend my friend...even when you take the thorns out. I just wish you only had 500 posts to make my point even stronger.

You passed me a long time ago...I kind of feel like a fool even attempting to talk to you.
