kenyon coleman is excellent in run support and not much of a pass rusher. plain and simple.

shaun ellis is better as a 4-3 DE but has the size and power to be a capable starter. and even though his play has declined he still makes the occasional key sack that seems to get things rolling on defense.

jenkins is probably the best and key player on our D. sorry but hes a top DL and our new NT. the heart of this defense.

id be more worried about depth at DE. CJ Mosely is actually awesome when given playing time other than that we have hold the fort guys who can be upgraded with some attention next year.

pouha looked pretty solid at NT in relief and Mosely even has the ability to playu there. just not for a long time

    Couple of quick points.

Elllis is about 300 lbs. He was drafted as a DE for the 3-4. How many great DE's in the 4-3 are 300lbs? not many.

The role of the DE in the 3-4 is not necessarily to get sacks. It is too occupy blockers and allow the 4 stand up LB's to fly around =.

Maybe if you quote it enough, some of you will get the point about the importance of a DE pass rushing in a 3-4.........

Some may get the point, but others will ignore it because it does not advance thier agenda of bitching and moaning all year long.
