I don't think we can. I don't care who we field each week, they are all NFL caliber players. They may not be the best, but for sure they could stumble into a first down, maybe even a field goal once in an hour if our QB had anything to contribute. I could live with a bad series or two, but he's throwing picks to linemen again. Mark had good protection for most of the last 3 games, there's no excuse for the way he's been playing.
if they were playing like NFL caliber receivers then they should be able to catch the ball period. No excuses
Ouch @ESPNtheGnome: Rookie Ryan Tannehill threw for 328 MORE yards yesterday than Mark Sanchez #Dolphins #Jets
Brandon Lloyd, Wes Welker, Gronkowski and Hernandez are not highly thought of and not house hold names? Tannehill has a great RB in Bush and Hartline is by no means a stiff and Bess is a good No.2/no.3 WR. Stevie Johnson and the Spiller/Jackson duo at RB alone blow by what we have on offense. Sanchez had his weapons in Holmes/Braylon/Cotchery in 2010....too bad it was short lived and just for one year.
It comes down to making correct quick decisions (see Montana or Elway) & in that dept MS is a 1 on a scale of 1-10. Also since that is a innate trait it is uncoachable so our esteemed HC blew it when he said take him since I guess he never judged that ability when he tried him out
They weren't before they got to New England and Tom Brady, that's my point. Good QB's make receivers better. That's just the way it is man.
Gronk and Hernandez came out of college and were 2nd and 3rd round picks...that's unfair to say that they are stiffs without Brady. They are two of the arguable top 5 TEs in the game. I get the debate on Welker(Lloyd was great in Denver.....maybe more of a McDaniels guy if we do wanna get deep in the debate) though Dolphin fans can even admit he was under utilized(NE thought highly enough on Welker to give up a 2nd round pick for him). It'd be like me saying Jimmy Graham's a stiff without Brees.
I don't mean to say that they're stiffs but are they the superstar players they are right now if someone like Matt Cassel was throwing to them this whole time?
Lets C MS O gained a total of 103 yds & MS had 1 INT + 1 fumble who thinks that was a good day @ the office?
When evaluating a rookie QB with a poor team around him? I rather my QB show signs that he can be a quality player. That doesn't necessarily translate into wins. (see Peyton)
At this point in time there is not one Starting QB in the National Football league who is not better than Sanchez. We can even start looking at backups!!! He is trash and that is that! Time for us to rebuild yet again! The sad thing is Tebow is even worse!!!
Misleading 2-2 record Junc, a competent placekicker away from 1-3, keep giving up this much yardage on the ground and 6-10 sounds about right....
I can respect that. One thing I really dont like doing is projecting wins in a season because to much can happen over the course of the season. Right now the Jets are focused on Houston and the Dolphins on the Bengals. Best of luck my friend.
Im so glad none of you coach the jets. Sanchez will be starting next week and it will be the right decision.
