I really don't. I have a lot of liking for them, from managers like Sir Bobby and Jackie C to great players like Gascoigne, Waddle and Beardsley there's much to like about Newcastle ahead of a lot of their peers in the top flight. I really don't like Carroll, though. Anyway, apologies for fftopic:
Just got an email in response to a Youtube clip I posted ... The message I got from fast50ricky was this: "This is me and my boy after the pats kicked the jets ass at monday night football game .yelling at dirty Sanchez and jets comming off the field ..kicking the jets ass priceless . " Don't know about you, but you've got the win, slaughtered the opposition and then start a tirade like this, WITH your son present (I'm assuming he was little), is totally classless IMO. I love Rex, but if I hear him compare our bad performance in week 13 to the Patriots bad performance in week 2 again, I am going to flip the fuck out. First of all, a 14 point loss is NOT the same as a 42 point loss (you'd think you wouldn't have to explain that math to a grown man.) Secondly, teams are still finding themselves and working out the kinks in week 2. If you haven't gotten your shit together by week 13...you're going to have problems. Moral of the story? Just stop making excuses and play better.
I am finally back. I didn't wear any Jets stuff all week, I didn't read a paper or listen to the radio/sportscenter. I am cleansed and ready to resume the season. JETS!!!
I come here and talk about the Jets almost everyday and during the 3 hours that the game is on I live and die with each play. Within an hour of the game ending (win or lose) I am pretty much moved on and going about my life without thinking much about the Jets. I use this place as my Jets outlet along with conversations with a few people that I actually enjoy talking football with in real life. Outside of that I don't have Jets wins or losses affecting my mood very much.
I've pretty much moved on from that debacle, there's no point really dwelling on it I hope the team has too. It's over, I just chalk it up as one awful performance not necessarily a harbinger of things to come this season
I'm 24, and have watched every Jets game since I was 5 years old. I've always had season tickets, but I played football and wrestled from 7 to 22 so many times I had to watch the game late on VCR or whatever (without knowing the outcome beforehand). I have never ONCE turned off or fast forwarded a game, but I had to last Monday with about 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I took a bunch of Xanax, it helped tremendously.
That's not true. I'm a Newcastle sympathiser on account of my brother's allegience, but the Newcastle support is routinely ridiculed by fans of almost all other English teams, largely due to the vocal mindless minority that flock to David Craig on Sky Sports News whenever anything of note happens at the club.
