Im so glad that the new coaches think Revis can "make a smooth transition to safety "

It scares me that for one of the very few instances that I can remember on this board we all agree ... end result ... they keep him ... GOD SAVE US ALL

Based on what you are saying he's going to be fucked at either position because the Rams played a ton of zone last year.

I rather move him to the list of cuts.

$20M/year for each of the three years, with $45M of them guaranteed.

    You heard it here first.

The time is right for this team to start getting younger at every position.
As much as I like Harris Marshall & Mangold I think it's time to cut bait and move on, and they can still play .
Revis on the other hand is done,

We would be wise to keep Harris next year. After that we might want to move on.

I know we only see part of the story when watching games. I know there is so much more going on behind the scenes.

But what I SAW of Revis last year convinced me that I never want to see him in a Jets jersey again. The thought of paying him millions to dog it on the field for another year sickens me.

But, as I said, there is much more to this story than what we see on Sundays, so it's possible he isn't a lazy, selfish, greedy, entitled, washed-up piece of shit.

A safety that can't tackle anymore. Doesn't sound too safe. You want to put a guy who pulls up and waits for others to make the tackle to be the last line of defense?

    Cut the mercenary

It sends the wrong message to the locker room if you keep him. There were the rumors he wasn't in football shape this year and it definitely showed. Hes not a leader and looks out for himself. Oh yeah, he's also the most expensive player on our team (after Mo).

Why don't we double down and make Antonio Cromartie and Revis our starting safety tandem?

Offer Revis $5 million to play S this year. If he turns it down look at him in the face and tell him to fuck himself.

As much as I want to believe this could revive his career, I just don't see it. To echo some previous opinions, Revis was so dominant in his prime due to his ability to jam WRs at the line and his uncanny ability to essentially "run the route" of the man he was matched up against. At safety, have to assume he'd be playing a Centerfield role as we already are inundated with thumper SS types, Revis would be forced to play a QBs eyes more, not play off the WRs motions and cues.

I just can't see it working, would love to be proven wrong, but I think it's time Macc realizes we need to deplete the elderly and figure out what kids can fit.

I can see Revis taking a restructure to play safety and having a rebirth of sorts next season, making a half effort at taking and racking up a bunch of picks, then getting a gaudy extension and packing it in for the rest of his contract until retirement.

It would totally suit his business ethic.
