I added up defensive & spec. team snaps...

Maybe I'm reading it wrong...wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe I just don't understand what D lineman (drafted 6th overall) are supposed to do...….but how in the hell can coaches be complimentary of him so far? Especially this coaching staff who "holds you accountable"

Leonard Gholston. Somebody had to do it. Speaking of hidden production, I wonder if I hid a report in my desk back in the day - meaning I didn't finish it - if my boss would have thought it was great. Signs point to yes and a raise.

No one is trading for the right to pay the hairy scrub $14.2 million.

Losing organizations tend to have low standards?

    Expect nothing, get nothing?

The Jets have absolutely ruined this guy with their floor level epectations for him.

When the Patriots sign him this upcoming offseason you think Belichick will whisper sweet nothings in his ear about how good he is? If he produces like this you think he'll get any playing time in New England?

This guy has needed a strong kick in the @ss instead all the Jets do is blow smoke up his butt about how good he is because he's supposedly producing like a good role player. Former top ten pick, $14.2 million this season.

Even then why would we want to pay an average at best defensive tackle that amount of money? We have so many other needs that we need to address with a tighter cap next year. Pass.

this Phillips guy (yeah... who?...) has shown more desire and fight than Leonard Williams has shown in 2 years. Leonard Williams could learn a thing or two from Kyle Phillips.

But ... I doubt he's the type to be open to learning from a measly undrafted rookie

I believe his point was that the team that trades for Williams won't have to take on his whole $14.2 million salary for 2019

Nobody knows what Williams will be paid next season because he's a free agent

Well my question is if we trade him in season would we also get more carryover money to put in 2020? If so that makes trading him much more attractive for the extra cap space alone.

we wouldn't the team we traded him too would. also people here way underrate leo. he hasn't been the dominant player but he is an above average starter. he's not trash. people treat him like he's vernon gholston when he's more like dewayne robertson or bryan thomas

That 4th & 2 play where Dak tried to run is the perfect example of Leo's fatness.

Dak ran right at Leo's slot...away from Quinnen...who slid down the line to make the stop while Leo was escorted out of the play.

He isn't anywhere near a bust such as Gholston, but for those other players they were underachievers when we were still a winning team so it wasn't quite as big of a deal. Now that we've been abysmal for most of the past decade, we have to use our resources extremely wisely while our young QB is still on his rookie contract. There is no way in my mind Leonard moves the needle for this team in any real way. Use that $10 million or more that he will likely want next year on positions of need.

i'm fine with that. i'm just saying he isn't a huge piece of shit. he was also on the all rookie team in 20165 and made the pro bowl in 2016. yeah he hasn't continued to improve in the past 2.25 years and seems to have peaked as an above average starting 3-4 DE and I do think we will move on form him, but all these "trade him for a sandwich" posts are nonsense. If he sucked there wouldn't be teams calling the jets to get him. If we could move him for a 2nd rounder though I'd be all for it. or a 3rd and a starter. I really liked what phillips was doing yesterday and foley. plus shepard comes back in 2 games.
