long list of obvious shit and the closest thing i see to criticism in the entire post is that clowney is a question mark.
offense brick, faneca, mangold, moore, woody, keller, cotchery, stuckey, clowney, clemens/sanchez, leon, tj, greene WOW defense jenkins, ellis, revis, sheppard, scott, harris, rhodes, leonhard, pace, gholston yeah baby! 12-4
Wow. Can we change your name to TampaBayDolphinsFanAbridged? You should get a job doing those abridged classics for children where they take Proust's Remembrance of Things Past and edit it down to 10 pages of text and 50 pages of illustrations.
I can't believe how glass is half empty people are around here. I just took my whole entire bottle of Prozac and humped Snuggles the fabric softener bear. I am predicting a 16-0 season. There is nothing that can hold this team back from destiny..................... QB- OMG we have Mark Sanchez. We all know how Rookie QB's come into this league and rip it up. RB- I hate to borrow from the other eternal optimist on this board but this is a true 3-headed monster. We are going to run so much and so successfully, it will be like when I box my wife..... I hit her with so many rights she begs for a left. The other teams will be begging for the pass. TE- Keller.... I predict 105 catches and 1500 yards. Unstoppable come to mind? Blocking TE- WHO NEEDS ONE....... WTF did Anthony Becht do for us? exactly. WR- Cotchery a posesion WR? NFW. I have it on good authority he has been working on his 40 time and is wearing Hussein Bolt's shoes and thermals. I heard he is running a 4.3 40 . Clowney- A proven #2 that can stretch the field. Stuckey- Gonna make Wes Welker look like Lauwrence Welk. O-line- I am predicting 5 all-pro's. They are gonna punish the opposition, just obliterate them. For instance, Wilfork, Seymour and Warren are going to fake injuries. Their pussies anyway. Pass blocking?- You have a better chance of an Olsen twin getting their hand on Mark Sanchez then a turkey like Joey Porter or Merriman. He is going to have enough time to wax his new porshe then throw a pass. Defense...... Here is where the Jets are realy going to excel. D-Line- Blocking Jenkins is gonna be a tougher job then my zipper holding the "hulk" back. Jenkins is going to have a party in the other teams backfield. I predict an Allpro year for him. Ellis is going to have a modest year. 15 sacks and a ton of tackles for a loss. All I have to say is f Kenyon Coleman.... whoever Ryan has on that side is going to be a monster.... it has to be as the Jets are going to be 16-0 yo. Linebackers- Bart Scott and David Harris They are going to be behind Jenkins. What else do I have to say? They are going to be free'er to roam around then OJ Simpson on a golf course.20-30 tackles a game between them. Gholston/Thomas/Pace- LOL The QB is dead. He will be running for his life more then some dumb teenager in a Friday the 13th movie. Revis- I am so confident in Revis's abilities screw listing the other CB. We can have Michael J Fox on the other side, Revis is still going to have 10 int's. I think the Jets can have 3 safeties back there. Rhodes/Leonard - LOL they are just there to pick up the table scraps. The 1-2 times the opposing team can get through the Brick wall of the Dline/LB's they will be there.......... This D will be so aggressive and great that we will not even hear the safties name. Ryan- Is going to be coach of the year easy. Tanny- is going to be executive of the year. Sanchez- is going to be Rookie of the year and league MVP. 16-0 here the Jets come. This team will be so dominant that watching this season will almost be boring.
TBJF, good job trying to capitalize on the early prediction so you can be the one to say "look see I predicted it I told you so!"... ...however, as much as I'd like to claim that's lame, I'll instead claim that it's not lame and that I already beat you to the punch... I called it first, HAH! http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=1216020&postcount=8 Attention whores ftw.
alright i'm tired of reading this bullshit about how we are going 11-5 or 10-6. we have a rookie qb and no wrs(cotchery aint a #1) and our defense is above average not elite yet and it is also our first season with Rex Ryan as our HC!!! want to know what our record will be?!?!?!?!? 6-10 mark my words
Definitely 20 - 0. We win 16 games, but there are allegations that we must have cheated when we beat the Patriots 246 - 0. The league forces us to play the Pats again, pushing the playoffs back a week. We win the 2nd game 486...no, 485. The likelihood of scoring an even 486 is, heh, rather low. That pushes our record to 17 - 0 and we storm the playoffs and print the worst championship gear ever: 20 - 0: Beyond Perfection. Every child born in New Jersey 2010 after the Super Bowl gets a name like Mark Sanchez Santelli. Bill Belichick is found hanging by a noose made out of film tape. Rex Ryan never has to buy a meal again and reports to training camp next season at 550 lbs. TGG spends the offseason listening to the same 10 posters predict a fall back to 2 - 14 the following season.
Clemens finally succeeding this year would do a few things for the Jets... Give them an experienced system guy who could be in a good position to help team win now. Give them trade bait and value at end of season. Take the immediate pressure off Sanchez while giving him a valuable year of NFL seasoning. Obviously if Clemens doesn't have it, hopefully Sanchez is ready to go (or else that would be real bad all around).
I wonder what you were saying in 2006, when the Jets were coming off a 4-12 season. I'll tell you what you were saying... "I'm tired of reading BS on how the Jets will go from 4-12 to 9-7/10-6 because we have a noddle-arm-QB with no RB's (Barlow and Blaylock), Coles is not a "true" #1 WR, our Defense is horrid with Robertson and Vilma as our 3-4 NT and 3-4 LB, oh yeah....And it is also our first season with Eric Mangini as our HC!!! Want to know what our record will be guys?!?!?!?!? 5-11 Yeah, JetsFTW...Thats what type of fan you are but I got news for you, here in 2009... HC-Mangini vs Rex Ryan= 09 Jets. Because Rex has more experience as a DC than Mangini had at the time. OC-Mary Schottenheimer Jr (Rookie) vs Marty's boy of today= 09 Jets because Marty's boy has the experience. QB-Chad Pennington vs Mark Sanchez-Tough one, I'll go with Pennington and thats because of his veteran experience. 06 Jets. RB- Kevin Barlow vs Thomas Jones= 09 Jets. RB- Derrick Blaylock vs Leon Washingon= 09 Jets. RB- Cedric Houston vs Shonn Greene= 09 Jets. FB- B.J Askew vs Tony Richardson= 09 Jets. WR- Laveranues Coles vs Jericho Cotchery= 06 Jets. WR- Jerricho Cotchery vs Clowney= Tie. 06 was was Cotchery first year as a starter and just like Clowney is today, Cotchery was an unknown. WR- Tim Dwight vs Chansi Stuckey= 09 Jets. WR- Brad Smith (Rookie) vs Brad Smith of 09= 09 Jets. TE- Chris Baker vs Dustin Keller= 09 Jets. LT- Rookie Ferguson vs 4th year starter D'Brickishaw=09 Jets. LG- Pete Kendall vs Alan Faneca= 09 Jets. C- Rookie Mangold vs 4th year starter Mangold= 09 Jets. RG-06 Bradnon Moore vs 09 Brandon Moore= 09. RT- Anthony Clemens vs Damien Woody= 09 Jets. As you can see...This 2009 Offense can blow away that Offense of 2006 that made the playoffs. RDE- Kimo von Oelhoffen vs Marques Douglas= 09 Jets. NT- Dewayne Robertson vs Kris Jenkins= 09 Jets.LDE- 06 Ellis vs 09 Ellis= 06 Jets LOLB- Victor Hobson vs Bryan Thomas/Gholston= 09 Jets. 3-4 IMLB- Jonathan Vilma vs David Harris= 09 Jets. 3-4 IMLB- Eric Barton vs Bart Scott= 09 Jets. ROLB- Bryan Thomas vs Calvin Pace= 09 Jets. CB- Andre Dyson vs Darrelle Revis= 09 Jets. CB- David Barrett vs Lito Sheppard= 09 Jets CB- Justin Miller vs Dwight Lowery= 09 Jets S- Kerry Rhodes vs Kerry Rhodes= 09 Jets (Experience) S- Eric Coleman vs Jim Leonard= 06 Jets? KR-Just Miller vs Leon Washington= I cant help but say... Tie. K- Mike Nugent vs Jay Feely= 09 Jets. If that 2006 team made the playoffs, with a rookie HC, a 1st year OC along with a Noodle arm QB, No rushing attack, two rookies on the O-Line, D-Robertson as our 3-4 NT, Dyson and Barrett as our 1-2 punch at CB, Hobson and Thomas as our OLB''s, Vilma and Barton as our 1-2 punch @ MLB, an unknown as our #2 WR, Baker as our TE, Clement as our RT, with Kimo as our DE? Please... How about we give this 2009 New York Jets team a chance with Rex Ryan as our head coach, a potential Franchise QB in Sanchez, a strong rushing attack, a solid O-Line, Kris Jenkins as our 3-4 NT, Revis and Sheppard as our 1-2 punch at the CB position, Pace and Gholston as our OLB's, Harris and Scott as our 1-2 Punch at MLB, an unknown as our #2 WR, Keller as our pass catching TE, Woody as our RT with Douglas as our RDE before we call this Jets team an 8 or 9 Win team at best. Who wins during a 4 Quarter game? The 2006 Jets that made the playoffs...Or this 2009 Jets team? Exactly.
Every year, me and my bud go through the schedule and we come up with 12-13 wins. Then the season begins and we drop games we had slated as easy. This the essence of being a Jets fan, or any fan for that matter. Id rather suffer an 8-8 season, but bring in our new QB to get acclimated to the NFL, then make the playoffs to loose in the first round. Here’s my check list. 1. QB: Let’s see if Mr. Personality can beat out the tendered veteran and run with the big boys. = Crap shoot (come on lucky # 6) 2. Offense: The line is solid but are the receivers ready to catch. = Crap shoot 3. Defense: The defense was stout at times, but didn’t get the turnovers to compensate when the O was down. The big boys up front wore down at the end. Did we pick up enough depth? Did we actually improve in this area? Is our secondary scaring anyone? = Wait and see. 4. Special teams: We have a new returner and Leon is going to be the man for many years to come. = solid. The moral of the story is we can not expect anything different from last year until it happens. I’m not a doom and gloomer , I’m a realist.
You are correct, it is not hard to predict any of this, easy pickings. Of course anyone would be better than an old slow Ty Law. Scott is easily better than Barton (not that Barton completely sucked. Obviously rookies that played last year gained experience. If Gholston gets ONE SACK, it is a bigger impact than he had last year. Not sure who said Jenkins wouldn't have an impact, the obvious questions were his weight, never having played in a 3-4, ect. Those are fair questions. To say he will be better than Robertson playing the nose, everyone agreed. Not sure what you are getting at here. You did not make any bold predictions here that has not already been said.
What's the most amount of receiving yards by any player in a given season? Clowney will have double that in 2009- mark it down!
