Cap inflation bro, plenty of teams would throw 60M at a prime Haloti. You would be left in the dust. Oh wait, Ngata did get a 60M dollar contract
Ngata should be elite by anyones definition. he had an insane impact on the game, he was impossible to block without allocating several people and schemes in order to do so, and even then tough to stop.
Jordan and Campbell are at around 5yrs, 55M. i do think Mo is just a slight bit better than them, so i'm hoping around 12M per is the max we'd have to spend. if we can do it for 11M, it's a no brainer. we'll see. 15M per is def too high.
Ngata is a whole different animal. They had the best middle linebacker (murderer*) in history who could be an elite player with someone like Ngata in front of him. Ngata didn't occupy two blockers, he occupied two blockers and forced his way into the backfield while doing it.
Man. I hope they settle this issue soon. The only issue I want to be on the front burner in camp is who the QB is.
It shows that you make no sense. But maybe I should have just said "non-edge rushers", I guess your weight argument would go right out the window in that case. And Watt buries everybody right now, he's arguably the best lineman in history. That doesn't mean there aren't any other "superstars" (again, silly term) out there. Just because A-Rod is a better QB than Wilson doesn't mean Wilson is not a superstar either. Or Andrew Luck. There can be more than just one superstar. Mo qualifies, Suh does, Dareus does. If you are AP All Pro material you are being considered a "superstar", whether you like it or not.
