If we were something like 3-11 right now, I would have given up on the Jets. But we're 7-7 despite the worst QB in the league. Douglas and Saleh deserve to have a shot at a veteran QB this offseason, though if they screw that one up, they all need to go, and I might just head out with them.
If Mack Gastineau roughing Bernie Kosar didn't make me quit as a Jets fan, nothing will. Sad to see the season end this way. My original personal goal for this year was 9 wins. I think they are going to fall short.
This Jets team is going to get run out of their own building on Thursday night. We're witnessing the complete implosion of what was once a promising season.
If Jax and Trevor Lawrence wins, then we are going to get a reminder of what could have been if we didn't beat the Rams.
Oh, c'mon now. If you managed to suffer through the last 10+ seasons, I am sure you can handle this one too. This team is going in the right direction. I even bought a Jets hat this season (my first piece of Jets merchandise since a Thomas Jones jersey many years ago). The defense is solid (maybe not on the level of Rex's defense but pretty close) and there are playmakers on offense (haven't had those in years). We just need a QB who can move the ball and avoid making stupid mistakes. We might have one in Mike White, who knows. I am almost as much of a darksider as they get, but this team is definitely on the way up and there are things to be pretty optimistic about.
Hang in there it was a tough loss. Defense only gives up 13 points to a high powered offense. Offense needs a competent QB and Wilson is not the answer. Playmakers on offense that I haven’t seen in years. Saleh needs to learn to manage the clock. MLF has to figure out exactly how to attack each team they face differently. He rolled Wilson out twice in a row and two passes later a TD. Unfortunately he abandoned this option for the rest of the game.
I honestly expected a 3-4 win season this year. I simply cannot figure out what so many of you are so mad about-- this has been an awesome season, and the rebuild is 2 years ahead of schedule. I mean, sure, it would be more fun to win now, but this is all bonus time in my book.
I'm old enough to remember watching the Jets in Super Bowl III. I don't go to any games but still consider myself a diehard fan. I watch every game, every season. I've gone through many roller coaster rides of hope only to be disappointed time and time again. This current regime is my last ride and I'm fading fast. While they've done a good job they still have a long way to go. It's pretty clear we wasted a number two pick on a bad QB. I don't think Mike White is the answer either. He throws for a lot of yards but not many TDs and he has a losing record. I'm just about at the point of not caring anymore. It's unlikely they'll get into a Super Bowl in the remaining time I have left on this earth. Sorry for you younger guys who will no doubt have to endure any more years of this.
