Ray Willis is a great young versatile RG/RT that can start immediately, and there are some guys that I expect to go undrafted that I really like for OL depth -- Dallas Reynolds from BYU in particular.

He played all 5 OL spots during his career at BYU and can succeed at all of them -- as a LT he gave up 0 sacks in the MWC which features 3 teams with great DEs and pass rushes (TCU, Utah, Wyoming).

Bodden below Winfield and Harris.. they are just flat out better playmakers. IMO

Excellent offseason. Some great signings (Ray Willis tops the list) and your top three picks are tremendous. Very well done. Nicks is the guy I want at #17 and Gilbert would be a steal there.

One problem that I almost overlooked. We didn't get a starting CB. And I do not feel comfortable with Lowery and Martin as our 2 and 3 CBs whatsoever. Lowery belongs in the slot or at safety now. I'd either sign one or draft one in the 2nd and scratch Jarron Gilbert...

I traded Lowery and our 4th for Leigh Bodden and our 5th, so we have two very good man cover CBs now and Derrick Martin as our Nickel Back.

How did you sign Crowder when he never became a free agent?

Free agency started a few weeks ago with everyone who was scheduled to become a UFA. Then it was up to the GMs of each team to make their moves.

For example the Bengals made a major play for Jordan Gross and got him.

I beat out the Falcons with a 6 year deal for Crowder and got him for only a 5 mil cap hit.

The mock draft started today and both the Lions and Chiefs passed on a QB so it looks like Sanchez will be available at #17 which would complicate my draft plan.

Part of me wants to stick with what I'm looking to do, Byron can hold the fort and I think Ratliff has the tools to succeed in the NFL, but then again it is Mark Sanchez.

I'm thinking maybe I could trade down with Minnesota and pick up some lower picks.

Big question: Is Antwan Barnes worth trading for?

He is a 3-4 OLB on the Ravens and he has shown a knack for getting after the QB. He is 6'1, 240 lbs and runs a 4.4 40 -- he is also very young.

I am in trade talks right now and I can probably get one of the two but I need to choose:

3rd and Antwan Barnes (and maybe a 5th)

    3rd and 4th

The only problem I am having here is I am starting to have doubts about Cody Brown. He ran the 40 in the 4.8s at the combine but otherwise I like him a lot as a 3-4 OLB. Barnes is proven that he can play 3-4 OLB and he knows Rex Ryan's system. He was used as a situational pass rusher by the Ravens because they already had Suggs and I think he can be a big contributor for us.

    Updated.

I traded back in round 1 with the Eagles.

Jets give: #17 and Jesse Chatman
Eagles give: #21 and their 3rd round pick (#85)

Eagles moved up to get their favorite safety and I got us an extra 3rd. I like that trade for us a lot.

    Updated.

I traded Bryan Thomas to the Packers for their 4th round pick.

That is one of the worst trades I have ever seen - is the Eagles' GM illiterate? That's so one-sided.

I appreciate you keeping us updated with this on-going mock, but it's becoming more and more unrealistic with each passing day.

The Eagles GM wanted to jump the Bears and the Bucs, two teams that could very well take safeties in the 1st round, to get his guy at Safety.

We worked out the terms and I got it so I felt that I was coming away with anadvantage.

I'm OTC and Nicks and Sanchez are still available, but I think I'll go with Nicks to stick to my draft plan.

And who said anything about this having to be like it will on draft day. Each GM can do whatever he wants with his team - everyone is trying to do what they think is in the best interest of their team. I thought picking up an extra 3rd to maybe get Cody Brown was a good idea and he thought making sure he got the safety he wanted was a good idea. We both came away happy. The Eagles also have another 1st, don't forget.

You didn't need to tell me all of that...it means nothing to me.

I was just saying: whoever is running the Eagles is an idiot. You can out on top and it's not even close. It's not like you are a genius for making that trade - the other GM is just a complete and total asshole for accepting it.

It's incredibly unrealistic to me...but I get it -- it's just for fun.

    Updated for 1st round pick.

With the #21 pick, the Jets select: Hakeem Nicks, WR, UNC

even madden frowns on the Packers GM.... Thomas is worth a 5th and a 7th next year.

They don't have a 3-4 rush LB for their new defense and you can't trade future picks.

If I trade up to #28 and Duke Robinson, Jarron Gilbert, and Sean Smith are all still on the board, who do I take? I'd still have the 2nd rounder.

Will Gilbert be there for my 2nd round pick?
