My take, for those who wish to read it, is that if I can not be a fan and root for the Jets than I will not even watch football anymore. They mean that much to me. Has being a fan been tough. YES. I have been a fan since 1967. I have seen so many things happen to this team it is hard to remember them all, but the list is huge. Yet, I remain a fan. Why? This is tough to answer, but maybe it goes all the way back to the roots when I was young an watched Joe Namath and the Jets win the Super Bowl against the heavily favored Colts. Namath and the Jets put the AFL on the map. It was an amazing occurance and one I can never forget. Has the wait for another Super Bowl (let alone, winning another) appearance been long; seems like an eternity ago. These times that we are in test our dedication and faith to a team, much like one's personnel committment to a spouse, or to one's Holy One, for that matter. My point is when you give up on hope and faith, very little is left after that. As a realist, could we make the playoffs this year? Maybe, but I highly doubt it based on all of the current givens...........however, I believe we are on the right track. This year has in its own right turned into a bit of a disappointment given our start at 3-0, but I have seen Jets melt down worse than this; trust me. Through it all, I will always be a fan of the Green and White (I just think the Titan Unis have to go, though; the make me wretch).

You are still a jet fan though am I correct? Haha, quality bump. As much as this team has put me through, I could never root for anyone else. It's hard to explain, but it just "doesn't feel right." Even when I'm rooting for another team to win because it helps the jets, it's hard for me to really get into that game and care enough. It is almost as if it is "immorally wrong" to root for any team but the jets.

Can we delete this thread and ban this user? It's embarrassing, and doesn't speak well of the entire board if someone were to visit for the first time.
I don't know what's funnier..people calling me a giants fan now and that I don't root for this team any longer or the fact that this thread was bumped from last year where I probably didn't mean the stuff I said as oppose to the more recent thread. What do I have to do to get back on the Gang Green's good side?

No, we should ban the user and sticky this thread as an example to everyone else. Sorta like leaving the one dead rat in the middle of the bag of live rats...so they get the message.
I sometimes get really really pissed and say stuff that I don't really mean. It's just that I care a lot.
