It's not homerism. If the SEC is so bad and an SEC team is going to be contending for the title, I don't see what the argument is regarding the SEC not being a good conference this year.

It's 2 teams and a pretty nice dropoff...The Big 12 we can all agree was the best conference this year. I'm just saying the SEC was overrated. And to say USC would of been 9-3 in the SEC is pretty lame.

I respect the big 12 for the fact that it had good quarterbacks. I still feel that USC would be unable to handle Alabama and Florida's defense in the regular season, then have to play LSU in a potential upset game. That's just giving them a schedule like Ole Miss had.

Ok, i'll concede. The SEC is not the best conference this year. It's at one of its worst performances in years, however, one of its teams will still win the title, and whether or not it earned it is unquestionable due to the strength of schedule and momentum/"anything can happen" hype of conference play.

If the Big 12 were better, the Big 12 will use its allegedly great offenses to win every SEC match up in the bowl season. (ole miss/uga-ttu will be good cotton bowl)

If USC would be unable to handle Alabama's defense...What would Bama's offense do against the #1 defense in the Nation?

Will the SEC be back on top in 09'? Probably...Nutt did an amazing job at Ole Miss...Bama was supposed to be a title contender in 09', not now. Florida/Georgia will always be solid as long as Meyer and Richt are there...Lane Kiffin could make some small noise...And Spurrier must finally make a stamp at the fake USC...

Just this year the Big12 was by far the best...Three 11-1 teams in ONE DIVISION...A very good Oklahoma State team, a decent Mizzou team, a solid Kansas squad...Pretty good.

It has been a really weak year for the SEC. Not in the traditional "great teams beating each other up every week" way. Outside of 'Bama and Florida, they've just been sloppy.

...and sadly it's still the best conference in college football.

It's not just a two team conference though:

Ole Miss has emerged as a team to watch in the future.

Georgia was overrated from the beginning, but they are still a very good team.

Vanderbilt is finally going to a bowl game.

South Carolina's defense is one of the best in the country - Spurrier's offense just blows.

There's a lot of things to look forward to in the SEC.

    I understand your gibberish.

If you're trying to say that the Big 12 is better than the SEC, then you don't have a clue. Mizzou and Tech would get completely run over by almost every team in the SEC.

Hopefully Oklahoma will face Florida in the National Championship - Florida will give them the biggest beat down of their lives and all of you Big 12 clowns will shut up.

Texas and Oklahoma are on the same level as Georgia - which is a second place SEC team in '08.

Well, we know where I stand.

I hate to be a talker because I'm actually scared to death of this game. Granted, I've been here for 3 years and still have one more football season so obviously I've got to be grateful to this team. I really think, however, the 08 mid-major teams of the SEC will win their bowl games. Ole Miss/TTU in the Cotton Bowl is what i'm really looking forward to seeing because the Rebels D-Line might be able to put enough pressure on the quarterback to make up for the weak coverage. I think LSU will do well against an ACC team probably GA Tech, and regarding the heavy hitters I don't see UGA having a problem with the capital one.

I am putting this up there now, with a few hours til kickoff in the title game..Bama's going to surprise us all. If i'm wrong i'll be happy, I just like the undefeated team winning. granted, i'll be pulling for the underdog winning and possibly blowing our sec national title.

thankfully, it's a near certainty now that they'll play in the national championship game.
