i will be upset if the jets take cutler or young, honestly i would be happy with any other top 10 prospect at 4
He's only been playing tackle in one full college season and didnt really play his rookie year, this was only he 2nd season playing the position, obviously he was going to get better later in the season, hes still learning... doesnt matter where he plays, d'brick is good enough to move him back to the right side, it wont make a difference, its not like hes a stud
Trading up for Leinart or drafting Young would piss me off...If we could get Leinart or Cutler at 4 that would be ok.
Cutler at 4 would be like the nightmare continues. I'm not a big fan of brick at 4 or Ngata(grrr not another DT at 4!). Hawk would be okay. I'm hoping for Super Mario, Leinart slipping, trading down or Vince Young in that order.
Agreed, Williams, Hawk or Ferguson but if they play there hand right they can maybe get Williams and Carpenter or Mangold depending on what they do with Katnick and a tackle in free agency.
Wait, what happened? When did drafting defense become an option again? This would be a major blow to the new FO's credibility if they pulled this. If Bradway was still in charge he would be getting ripped for even considering drafting defense at this point. If the Jets don't feel any of the offensive players available are worth the #4 then it's imperative that they trade down.
IF they stay at #4 I wouldn't mind Leinart(wishful thinking),Young,or Mario Williams. If they're sold on Cutler,I would prefer that they trade down to get him,but if they took him 4 I wouldn't be pissed. If they decide to take D'Brick,I wouldn't be mad at all, just slightly disappointed.I'm one of those guys who thinks you can get solid O-linemen elsewhere in the draft, and a top 5 pick should be used on an impact ,blue-chip game-changer (like a franchise QB or an elite pass-rusher,probably the 2 most coveted positions in the NFL).That said,Anthony Munoz,Orlando Pace, and Jonathan Ogden were all top 4 picks, so if D'Brick is one of those types of tackles Jets fans have to be cool with the team selecting him. If the Jets trade up for Leinart,I'd be fine with that too.Not over-joyed,but I'd understand.
Why? I think they need to take the best player on the board at #4. I don't understand this whole concept of how our offense is in shambles. They've shored a lot of things up -- but obviously, o line is the big problem. That can be addressed with our 29th and 35th picks. I'm not saying we shouldn't go after offense, I'm just saying that when you pick that high, you need to take the best player available, regardless of position.
The Jets need a QB. The Jets have below average to average talent at best on offense at pretty much every position. They're not going to be able to "get by" with JAG at QB. The Jets have neglected or let talent they did draft get away on offense for years, and they need to start correcting that or they're never going to be an elite team. On top of all of that, the Jets already have way too much money sunk into the defensive line specifically, which was their whole rationale for trading Abe. Where is the sense in spending mega bucks on a high pick to bring in a guy at a position where you just traded a Pro Bowler because of salary concerns?
The only player I'll be dissapointed if we draft is DBrick. There is just to much depth on the OL in this draft to pass up top talent at other positions at the 4 spot. I hope we get a QB in the 1st and will be slightly disappointed if we don't but the disappointment won't last very long knowing we just drafted a 295 pound freak to play DE.
I dont want to see them trade up or take a quarterback. I would like to see them take Williams or Hawk and then take an OL with 29 (maybe Mangold). If they took Ferguson, it wouldnt bother me, but according to the "experts", this draft is deep with OL and we have a nice amount of picks to help us build an OL.
For #4 I hope that Leinart falls or the Jets trade down for more picks. At 29, they have to pick Mangold. I don't get too upset when they pick guys I don't want, cause that happens every year anyway, plus, they know way more about the guys than I ever will. The one thing that has me nervous is that I read Bradway is supposed to be very involved because he started the scouting process before Tannenbaum was promoted. I really think they should have made that move earlier, because Bradway doesn't have the pressure or the accountability that a GM normally would.
Not trading for Leinart. Drafting Cutler. Getting Robbed aka D-robbed. Doing anything Bradway thinks is a good idea at the time.
he will be involved no doubt, but tannenbaum will make the final decisons, and i think mangini will have more a say than bradway
