I live and work in NJ. Every year we have a big sports show and I do security for the players. I've had to guard Chad, Curtis, McCarins, Vilma, J.Abe and Santana Moss. They were all really cool guys. Of note though, Jerry Rice was an A-Hole. John Elway, Dan Marino and both Mannings seemed like good guys. Shockey is, as advertised, a D-bag and at one point got into an argument with Jet Fans and stopped giving autographs. (Penny was signing at the table next to him, so the Jet fans on line started riding him, it was great.) I got into a long discussion with Abe about returning before he was traded and he said that he really would rather stay but his argument was that he had been to 3 pro-bowls and should get a better contract than Ellis (who had been to one). He said they were offering him a weaker contract than Ellis and if that didnt change he would probably not be here. Guess we know how that ended. One last little tale ... Years ago I went to trainging camp with my wife. After we went to the Dunkin Donuts across the street and when we walk in, Wayne Chrebet and his father are sitting at a table. So... now, honey why dont we eat here instead of in the car. A young black woman with 2 small children are sitting between ours and the Chrebets table. Im trying to listen in on their conversation and I decide not to bother them while they are hanging out. At one point one of the kids drops a toy/or bottle or something and Wayne reaches down and gets it and hands it the child. The Chrebets leave and I, being a compete dork, turn to the woman and say "did you know that was a famous football player sitting next to you?" and she turns rather matter-of-factly and says "yeah I know who he is, thats little Keyshawn sitting across from you". If there was any doubt that fued real that surely cleared that up for me. Not a word spoken between the Player and player wife, no less the same position. Chill in the air that day.
Curtis Martin for obvious reasons, and Cotchery. I love his fight and team attitude. He's really built himself up and has earned what he has.
I think Graham would maybe the most fun to go out and drink with. For a five minute conversation I would go with Pennington.
chad for the obvious reasons, i would like to sit down with this guy and have a drink or two to see what he really is like...then i would serenade him with my banjo and feed him strawberries and whipped cream after we ride horseback on the beach....
