Probably very highly after his combine. Long actually outperformed Gholston in agility drills. He may not be the pass rusher Gholston is, but he's versatile, less raw, and still an excellent athlete. After his combine I think he pretty much made every 3-4 coach drool.
Long did better in agility drills. One very real knock on Gholston is that his hips are kind of tight. I'm not sure how much of an issue it is to our coaching staff, but IMO it was enough for me to finally buy into the Long hype.
What's your definition of a hole??? Moore, Elam and Coleman are fine at there positions. I think Stuckley has a chance to be a very good third wideout and Miller or siging Gay could fill the 2nd Cornerbackposition. A hole would what Clarke or Mccarines was. There was no possible way we could start another season with them at their positions. OutsideLinebacker is the only real hole the Jets have IMHO.
I'm guessing the Jets will have whoever is left of Gholston and Chris Long to pick from. I think they proably would be okay taking either one of them to play OLB. Long's too small to play 3-4 DE though, they'd have to take him to play the strongside linebacker and plan to move Thomas back weakside.
I'd absolutely have to agree with that assessment. I don't know where all the talk of him as a 3-4 DE came from, he's always been undersized in that capacity as a prospect. Via his combine, he's a perfect fit at 3-4 OLB.
Pretty much summed up my feelings about Bryan Thomas with "the position he excelled at in his CONTRACT YEAR." We need a pass rusher. A real one.
IMO we're going skill position, in the draft. looks to me like the FO'S filling in the needs in FA. i can see us going RBWITH #6, AND WR,with #36. thats provided me don't trade down. i'd still love to see us hold up dallas for barber, and thier 1st rounder, for dmac.
