If I had it my way I would draft like.this: 1st: if there's a really good OLB take him, if not a RB. 2nd: If we get a RB 1st round then we get an OLB in the second, if we get a OLB in the first then we get a RB in 2nd. Speed back preferably. 3rd: Best available Safety or O-Line or another LB. From there in I would say best available players.
Pass rusher, left tackle, or runningback. id go qb if we can get the #1 guy, otherwise id pass. id like to go back to building our line. if we can get a dominant left tackle, and move ferguson to RT i think we'd be doing ourselves a great service. im done investing first round money in non-pass rushing linebackers
this team needs a RB. They talk endlessly about ground and pound and have nothing but 3rd string backs on a good team. A running game will open up other aspects of the game. As bad as Sanchez was, you cant expect him to magically find people open, bc they have nothing but #4 WR's too. The 49ers could just sit back and play pass bc they cant run for dick. Sanchez has ZERO help.
we definitely need help in the scouting department the past 3 draft classes have been shaky at best. As for current needs build that ground and pound Rex wants. Draft OL and a stud RB. It would also be nice to see a true pass rusher
Geno Smith is a system QB in the big 12 where they don't play defense. Let's slow that train down a second. I say go OL, but this is a weak year for offensive players in the draft.
Mark has had pretty good protection up to this point this year yet so many people want OL in the 1st round. The issue is it needs to be mostly sunny with no wind and 78* with Barry Sanders in the backfield and Jerry Rice and Megatron as wideouts with a great oline for Mark to win games.......sorry but when this team gets a QB then we can build everything else, no need to build other parts of the team if your QB throws picks to the D line or cant hit wide open passes
we'll fuck it up like we have in our last 5 drafts. you want a reason why this team sucks? look at our drafting. D-Brick, Mangold, Revis, Harris drafts are a lifetime ago.
I'll just take a receiver that can get separation and a running back that can gain more than 3 yards. When rookie receivers are getting over 1k yards with rookie quarterbacks, and your #1 guy can't even scratch 100 yards in 27 games, then it's time to go in a new direction. Mark's problems seems to be that his receivers are rarely open, and when they rarely are open, he's either not throwing good passes or they are dropping them perfectly thrown passes. Replacing the QB doesn't change the fact that we have no playmakers. It's funny that you say he needs all these all time greats to generate wins, yet he was winning games and taking this team to 2 AFCCG with Braylon Edwards, Cotchery and Santonio Holmes.
Gotta be RB IMO. That or WR. Like it or not Sanchez isn't going anywhere so we have to increase his weapons, either receiving or take the pressure off of him with a legit high end RB.
3-4 more years??? who the hell wants to wait 8 years on a QB? a decade of crappy qb play from the same guy?
Robert Griffin came from a similar system and same conference Geno has great pocket presence and can make all the throws, if a team builds an offense around his strengths then he'll be fine
OLB, Tackle or QB if its like top 5 and we have a guarantee. I don't know how I feel about another USC QB. Is there any other "Can't Miss" type QBs in this draft. Lot of really good LBs in this draft though. I wouldn't mind going 1st and 2nd at LB while we get rid of Pace Thomas and Scott.
I personally would like to see them play a team with even a shred of a defense before I declare him a high 1st pick. Tyler Bray has a LOT of Jay Cutler in him. I watched the UT/FLA game and I can remember at least 3 times that when something didn't go his way he threw the ball at the back of a UF player like a whiny child.
