The credibility of the source provides insight into the validity of the statements, so yes, it matters.
Please, it doesn't matter if it was said by Revis or a practice squad player. You can not have any member of the team saying publically that the starting QB is lazy and not that good.
So are we to believe comments said anonymously are 100% true even though there's plenty of conflicting reports and even Mason has come out and said Sanchez is one of the hardest workers on the team, this is obviously someone who's trying to sabotage the locker room as a lot of these comments are false.
It makes a huge difference. It would be much more worrisome if the O line was fed up with Sanchez or if it was Tone because. It is a world of difference. Just like if TO or Pacman complained it wasn't a big deal, it is expected. But if Urlacher or Ray Lewis or a highly respected player is saying things it is a huge difference. If someone like Dig on your team came out and said they don't believe in Bill's way of coaching and handling the media it wouldn't matter. IF Brady or Welker started saying that it is a bigger problem.
Look, do you seriously think Mehta is going to make that crap up? And he said on PFT that it was "more than a handful" of players. Like it or not, it is a huge problem for the Jets, especially for Rex. Funny that the guy who likes to shoot his mouth off has been very quiet about this over the past few days.
And if he was talking you would be complaining how he is talking too much while the playoffs are going on. With opposing fans Rex will never win.
I do agree that it is a problem even if the reports are true or not, I don't think he made the sources up but I think he went to sources who don't know jack shit about the situation as a whole, how would a defensive player know if Sanchez is lazy or not when they are not in the meeting rooms with him. That being said where is Rex in all of this, I haven't heard a peep out of him not even to come out and defense Mark.
My money on is it was McElroy. This is all an elaborate plot to make himself the starting QB. He is some sort of evil genius.
He may be - the jury is still out. He's still young. But T-Sizzle is just about the WORST source. Dude has no shortage of thoughts on quarterbacks. According to Suggs, Tebow is even softer than Sanchez.
This what have you done for me lately mentality is nuts. I know where in NY but cmon..... Just another sign of some girl scouts that are on the team (if the story is even true). Everyone was happy (fans included) when Sanchez was throwing bombs to Holmes and Edwards last year. OF course Sanchez had enough time behind the line to get it done. I don't blame the Kid for getting rattled from being knocked around so much this year....Hard to look for receivers down field when your running for your life or constantly checking the line because you have no confidence in them. Money or not...I wouldn't want to keep getting pounded by 300 LB guys and would do my best to avoid it. Sanchez has his performance issue but Don't think he should be the fall guy...especially from his team mates.....How does a player that plays a team sport for his entire life not get the basics of teamwork/ brotherhood mentality. My daughter has figured that out already.....and she is 4
The team chemistry issues are obvious. Rex will either fix them or go down in flames. That being said, the grousing of a few unnamed players doesn't necessarily say anything about the general feeling toward Sanchez.
There are no games now. I am not rooting for him to fail, I am just stating a fact, Sanchez is not very good. Like I have said many times, I would like to eat crow when it comes to Sanchez, but I probably will never have to..
No kidding... Of course Pats players aren't going to say they want Manning - they have a QB that is arguably just as good AND healthy... Ask any player on a team without an establish future HOF QB and you'll get a ton of guys saying "Hell yeah, I'd love to play with one of the best ever" And to me that's not a knock on Sanchez other than saying he isn't a future HOF / All time great. Ask around the NBA back in the late 80s if they would like to play with Jordan...lol It's all in how the media wants to twist the question and the answers...... Even Mangold yesterday jokes - "Would I want to play with a healthy Joe Montana... Umm YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It's all pretty silly - And easy for the media to get jocks to answer their leading questions and twist it all to fit whatever agenda they have.... But, again BOTTOM LINE - When the team hits the field in September that is ALL that will matter - that's why Rex, Woody, and Tanny can't listen to any of this BS and have to grind the Draft and Free agency while improving the TEAM and locker room and Ignore this utter Bull Crap.
Woody Johnson is a smart guy. What he didn't say, but what is obvious, is that when you build your team around people of questionable character then maybe losing the off-season hurts you much more than it does teams that build around a certain type of player in the draft instead of the meat market of free agency. Still, I thought his comments were dead on.
I dont see that we have built our team around people of questionable character - I see our team as being built around Sanchez and the "core 4" - Revis, Mangold, Harris and Ferguson, none of which I would say are low character guys. Add to that guys like De Vito, Pouha, Greene, Tomlinson, Slauson, Moore, Wilson, Smith (not counting his playing skills), Leonhard and its hard to see anyone that seems a low character guy we all know about Holmes' recent outbursts but who else is there on the team that from the outside looks to be a problem or that you would say are of questionable character? edit: for all he can do some stupid things at time I dont think Cro is a low character guy.
