If the Jets stay at #4 and #29, who do you take?

I would rather package the #29 and #35 to move up a few spots from 29 if there is a player still around in the 2nd half of the first round that is worth it. Somebody always unexpectedly drops.

Why do a lot of people think Detroit will trade up? I haven't heard anything about that, but I would make the trade (9 & 40 for 4).

    But otherwise:
    #4: AJ Hawk/Jay Cutler
    #29: Nick Mangold

Now the best thing we could possibly do, is trade down. Perhaps the Vikings would like to snag Jay Cutler... Or maybe Detroit would like to trade up.

No reason to take a center in the first round. That position doesn't have to be the most skilled you just need to find someone mid to late rounds that you can coach up.

#4 - Jay Cutler or Matt Leinart
    #29 - Maroney.

Thanks, bud, happy to be here.

    Like I said, a great day overall. Now I can't wait for the NFL to announce the compensatory picks for the Draft...hopefully we add a 3, 4 and 6 for Jordan, McKenzie and Fergusson. Would give us 2 1sts, 1 2nd, 2 3rds, 2 4ths, a 5th, a 6th and 2 7ths.

All I've got to say is .... "DON'T TRADE UP!".... there's a miniscule chance that leinart could drop to #4 anyway.

And with this FO, we never know whether what we hear is true or false... which means they're doing an excellent job. This is really exciting.

    #4 - D'Brick
#29 - Mangold (if hes gone Bobby Carpenter)
    #35 - Manny Lawson

I know alotta people want a qb but i'm not sold on any of the guys here and our biggest needs are on the o-line. I say we give Penny/Ramsey their shots this year, if neither of them work out at least we'll know by the end of the year what we got (most of u talk like we're throwing the year anyway) - I personally think we'll be fine - This is one of the best o-line drafts ever and D'Birck and Mangold will be two of the best in the league at their positions. We have a shot to build a great o-line for the future right now which is very important and the best way to begin rebuilding. Lawson fits perfect in a 3-4 with his speed. I also think we should seriously consider Derek Smith as a free agent LB. He is a Bruschi-type who racked up tackles for the niners last year and would come relatively cheap. That all would fill our basic needs and save cap room for next year. Lets apauld Tangini so far, Tan did a great job with a shaky cap situation and made the best of the Abe situation.

if we use a 4-3 then super mario if not then probably cutler at 4 then maroney at 29. i say trade down from 4 stay in the top 15 and get either white or williams then pick up mangold at 29.

Great post. O-line all the way. Only thing for me, I don't know who may covet Mangold enough to make it too risky to let him drop past #29 to #35. Its all a gamble anyway, but I could live with taking him in the 1st. If we have to...

What I really want is to package #4 and #29 for #2 overall and draft Matt Leinart.[/QUOTE]

Not with all our needs. Why trade 2 1st rounders to move up 2 spots? Plus, Leinert MAy fall to #4 anyways.

What for? To move out of the first makes no sense. Let's get some 1st round talent instead.

We don't have as many wholes as everyone keeps saying...Yes we have a good amount, but we don't have to keep #29 if we think Matt could be the man...
