My God, is this what it's coming to? Tebow would come here SOLELY as a wildcat option for an offensive coordinator that is the leading wildcat proponent. Tebow would not be coming here as a quarterback. In the wildcat role, he would be effective and could be worth a 4th or 5th round pick. This would not be a quartback competition whatsoever. Also, all this Sanchez hate from Jets fans has got to stop. It's unwarranted and counterproductive, although I must admit that my 18 year old son suffers from the same folly. But he's only a kid.
It's stupid for him personally because despite what the media says the Staff still holds him in regard - Tebow or not. He will find out the grass won't be greener on the otherside...at least initially where other teams definetely don't see him as the guy to build around. Starting for the Jets and dealing with Tebowmania OR Backing up Bradford in St. Louis.... hmmm
Lol "Step into the elite threshold". After what I've seen I'd be happy for middle of the pack. But he is a little emotional and who knows how he'd react.
Just playing devil's advocate here, but I actually think having Tebow around could make Sanchez better. Regardless of what you think of his skills or his politics there's no denying the kid's work ethic. And he could actually help defuse some of the locker room crap that was allowed to fester last year due to a lack of "high character." Sure it would be a circus in the papers the first time Nacho throws three picks in a game, but isn't it already?? Good locker room guy, wildcat option, can maybe even line him up in a two-tight end package and confuse the shit out of a defense from time to time...worth blowing a 6th rounder on.
Fair enough. I am not against bringing Tebow over for a situational role, BUT, I just know the JETS FO can get a little crazy and would hate to see them over pay for him with a high pick. Then the other aspect is, Tebow is not looking to play a situational role. We cannot ignore the intangibles but I just hope they do not give up good picks for this guy. Therefore all JETS fans should pray Jacksonville comes up with a 2 or 3. You know what is possible: We have been under the radar this off season. It could all be a charade to put us in the news, perhaps the FO isn't seriously considering this. They made a great off season move with Sanchez.
If that did it, Tanny should get on the phone and get it done. That's a bargain. But Denver is probably looking higher.
work ethic? no one has questioned Mark Sanchez's work ethic. he's a son of immigrant parents with strict chicano upbringing and we here talking about work ethic. good locker room guy? no one wants to hear him sermonizing about being virgin in the lockeroom and media giving him credit for everything. NO TO TEBOW
The level of stupidity in this thread has reached maximum allow-ability and should be closed. Tebow as a wildcat option is not a bad thought but in all honesty i don't want it here. We ran the wild cat effectively for the last 3 years with a OC who was a retard. Im sure Sparano can find another option that wont draw as much media drama.
Sanchez should "demand" a trade?? To where? Who wants a medicore QB with limited arm strength who guaranteed $20M??? Sanchez should go to church and thank God in Heaven the team overpaid him so royally and then get back in the practice facility and learn how to read a defense. He has no right to complain about anything after his performance last season. Case in point -- Sanchez v. Tebow last season. Hello? Have we already forgotten Sanchez imploding and handing the game to Tebow?
Did I say Sanchez has no work ethic? Nope. This is exactly why I said to put aside his politics. If you think he's going to be dominating the press conferences from the bench, it's not gonna happen. I get that a lot of people can't handle having a discussion about Tebow as a FOOTBALL PLAYER, but whether or not the guy wants to run prayer meetings after practice doesn't really have anything to do with whether or not he can help us on the goal-line.
Tebow started in week 7? Since week 7, in 6/11 games that defense kept opponents under 15 points. That is extremely good defense.
Sanchez is a first or second then. You need less tailoring of the offense for Sanchez, and Sanchez has a winning record in the playoffs. He has more comebacks than Tebow's even Tebow is more revered. If you want to say Tebow is a 3rd, that means most starting Qb's in the NFL are worth a 2nd.
I kinda agree. There's no stopping Tebowmania. The second there's a youtube video of Sanchez missing a completion in training camp the "bring in Tebow" nonsense begins. Even if every coach and FO executive signed a promise, punishable by death, to never let Tebow be more than the Jesuscat QB. Who wants to play under that? Is the cash worth being over-criticized? Sanchez showed last season that fans booing him messed with his game. Making it worse won't improve his game. Sanchez could ask for a pay cut in exchange for a trade. He could sit behind a good QB and make some improvement or go to a team with less media pressure and still make $10 mil easily.
It's no wonder the locker room is dysfunctional, because the front office is dysfunctional. To quote Adam Schein "What is this, amateur hour?" I agree Sanchez needs to be pushed by a younger, but Tim Tebow is not the answer. The front office needs to be working on REAL needs, like upgrading the O-line,finding a pass rusher, and improving the safety position. Not chasing the latest fad.
