You guys realize you are playing one of the three worst teams in the NFL? The Bills have no D-Line and can't stop the run to save their ass. Sanchez won't need to win this game only manage it. As much as I want to see Buffalo beat you the Jets should shut them out. Don't worry. You're next loss is in week 8.
If Sanchez Can't Pass in Wind and Rain... Looks like Woody F'ed up not pushing for a dome on the new stadium.
The Bills know they are awful against the run, and also know that that is exactly what the Jets want to do, is run the ball. Ever see ten men in the box? You just might see it today. Remember too, that the Bills have been without Poz and Whitner while they racked up all of these poor defensive rushing stats. These two guys are the keys to the Bills D, especially against the run. I don't care how bad a defense might be, if the Bills run blitz all day, the ground game isn't going to work. Sanchez is going to have to make some throws, and yes, what happened in the Titans game does worry me. If the Bills can stay in the game... any given Sunday.
I'm sure slants and short outs are going to be the play calls for most of the game on both sides. The Jets always preach establishing the running game so I'm sure they'll try it today with slick conditions.
You're so right. Ten men in the box just might work. It's not as though that would be the easiest defensive front in the world to break down. I'm sure the Bills are stupid enough to trot that one out.
Playing with 10 men in the box is actually a great idea. You just need to play with 12 guys on defense.
I've seen ten in the box before on run blitzes. It's rare, but I've seen it in the NFL a couple of times. I'm not saying they would consider doing that on many plays... just a couple of times, here and there, maybe agianst a two TE set. I hardly meant to indicate that this would be some sort of base defense... geeze.
BTW... watching the red zone channel... Jax just put 10 in the box to throw S Jackson for a 3 yard loss. It happens.... so stfu.
I'm not sure how he could be against the Sanchez pick, at this point. 21 starts past HS, and he's played exceptionally well. The mechanics, velocity, accuracy and distance is there. The winning mentality is there. The football intelligence is there. What more does he have to do?
So Jets fans, how fast do you think they put a roof on the new stadium if Sanchez, a SoCal boy, can't play in cold weather?
