Ah, completely forgot about that. Still doesn't change my opinion. Worst casw scenario we are out a 3rd. if he plays well enough to warrant picking up that option, well those are the problems we want to have
With a team option of 16 mil. Which still doesn't account for giving up picks to keep a guy who may not be able to be kept. Percy Harvin 2.0 So you're saying you'll give up a 2nd round pick to maybe keep a guy for 16 mil? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How would it be dumb? Giving up a 2nd for a guy who has every incentive not to restructure and hit the market next year makes absolutely no sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
if its a percy like trade where its a 3rd that becomes a 2nd if we keep him on the roster i would do it.
For 16mil? It's exactly why we didn't keep Percy bc he wouldn't restructure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
With the price they paid for him they would want at least 1 First and he's not worth a 3rd.. Interesting how this will play out
percy is a wr. We are talking about qb if he comes in and plays well and we are winning he is worth it. If he isn't he goes and we took a 3rd round flier trying to improve the position.
Which is even worse. It has even stronger ramifications. I can't subscribe to putting ourselves in an impossible situation. Frankly I can't see any team trading for him bc of his contract scenario and recent performance. If he's cut I'm all for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Trading a 3rd round pick for a guy w a 16 mil 5th year option likely means trading a third round pick to cut him. He won't restructure that no way no how. To be worthy of the 16 mil he'd have to have a pro bowl season. You would trade a 3rd for a lets see? That's ridiculous. It's impossible bc we are asking into a shitty contract situation w a highly questionable player. If he's cut then work out a feasible contract, that I will be totally onboard with. Thats the environment in the league right now. Have to be aggressive and take chances at the qb position. He still has the talent to justify where he was drafted. I see it as a medium risk high reward.
Yes when the contract scenario makes sense. This one in a trade makes none. It's throwing away a decent round pick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm talking about his current contract. If he had a better current contract is irrelevant bc he doesn't. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There shouldn't be a problem picking up the option if he were to play up to the money. You have to pay for good quarterbacking.
RG3 is in the final year of his rookie deal and is due about 6.7 in 2015. He'll be a UFA in '16. You would think it would be worth that money to keep him around for one more season to see how he will do. He'll obviously be motivated because his career is on the line.
Looks like I was wrong and the Redskins can sign him to a fifth year option http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/washington-redskins/robert-griffin-iii/ for megabucks. Cousins value had dropped precipitously after he got a chance to start and sucked. Right now you have to think he's no. 3 behind Colt McCoy. RG3 is disliked by Grudin who if he doesn't win back his favor could end up on the bench in 2015. And Grudin if another bad year fired.
Looks like a bit of a mess. If they draft MM maybe RG is odd man out. I'm open to anybody that can give us an upgrade and help win a game. He's an upgrade over Geno, that's it. The reasons why RG is out don't concern me. Until someone is drafted, signed, or falls down from Heaven, I'll upgrade in anyway to be competitive and win games. If the dude is better than what we have, and there isn't a better plan, then it's a good option. When I think of RG, I think of that playoff game in 2012...that guy there was superior to Geno, and Fitz.
