    exactly right.

Mangini covets versatility....and McFadden is as versatile as they come (the guy runs, catches, throws...who else besides LT in the league is capable of doing that effectively). He may have some off-field issues...but i believe they're minor....and would welcome DMAC with open arms.

  2. Ahh...this is just another BS anti-DMAC thread. When one critcism gets thrown out the window..another develops.

The slide is about the longevity of his position as well as DL/OL being the cornerstones for any team.

    OL (J.Long) can play 10 - 12 years at a high level
DE are probably looking at 6 - 10 (Gholston on the short side as he is a speed rusher, C.Long on the longer side)
    DT (Dorsey/Ellis) around 8 - 10 years

RB (McFadden) are more in the 4 - 8 range in terms of longevity and with very few exceptions, they are not the cornerstones of franchises.

Teams at #1 - #5 are struggling on the OL and DL (with maybe the exception being Oakland, hence their interest in McFadden.)

Why did Pacman Jones, by far the best defensive talent and probably the top overall talent in 2005 slide to 6?

I'll bet you the Titans wish they'd let him slide further.

He was still a great player. Not a great person, but a great player.
