To repeat, this is the only Jets Forum that I was banned on and my support/beliefs about that other QB have no bearing on the validity of what I have said in this thread.
You were banned on JI, you have admitted you are NOT a Jet fan and your opinions on QBs are indelibly tainted by your insane defense of the most woefully talented QB in NFL history and therefore they have EVERY bearing on the validity of your opinions. So, having said that, I think your opinions on QBs and what players are right for the Jets is fatally flawed. But please, proceed. _
You can continue to repeat the same BS as much as you want Stokes, it doesn't change the fact that you are wrong. To repeat for the nth time, I wasn't banned on JI. I had a working login right up through the merger with Scout in August. And as I also said, my defense of said QB doesn't invalidate ANYTHING I have said in this thread. Now, like I said before. If you want to take issue with any point or claim that I have made, step the hell up and do so cupcake. No worries though, I don't expect you to as you almost never offer up any kind of evidence or argument. You just spout a BS opinion and then run around telling anyone who disagrees with you that they are wrong. Of course, you don't offer up any kind of actual rebuttal, evidence or argument to support your position. Rather, you just troll along with the same BS over and over again.
I don't know what to tell you. You were banned on JI. I was there for it and was among the multitudes that applauded it. Please do not call me a liar because as anonymous as the Internet is, I refuse to be called a liar by anonymous trolls on the Internet. You have admitted you are not a Jet fan and only joined multiple Jets boards because of your fanaticism for a certain player no longer in the NFL. The definition of trolling. Your opinions on QBs is indelibly tainted by your defense of said player even to the extent you vociferously defended his throwing motion compared to other real QBs. But please, again, tell us why Marcus Mariota, 1000x the quarterback of your savior is not right for a team you are not a fan of. Please. Indulge us. _
It is NOT a reasonable continuation of my logic, but rather an extreme one. Taking a QB every year would be stupid and a waste of draft picks, and I didn't even remotely suggest that, so for you to put it in your rebuttal is irrational and illogical, and just plain dumb. You obviously don't want to have an intelligent respectful discussion, so I'm done with this subject with you. Stokes clearly is right about you and your lack of knowledge/understanding regarding QBs.
Stokes, perhaps you were on drugs or hitting the bottle or something ? Don't know what to tell you but I wasn't permbanned on JI. I popped in from time to time right up til the end. Just out of curiosity, when did this banning supposedly occur ? As for the "indelibly tainted" comment, for the nth+1 time, that in no way invalidates anything else I have said in this thread. Is it that you didn't take logic in school ? Or did you simply not understand it ? Tell you what Sunshine, if you want to discuss him, hop over to the NFL forum like WW85 advised and we can discuss it there if you wish. It's comical how you keep bringing him up here, but it's completely out of place (as you've been advised).
Dude, "dont' want to have an intelligent and respectful discussion" ? I took the time to break your entire post down into segments and tried to address each point that you raised individually. How is that NOT an example of trying to have an intelligent and respectful discussion ? WRT the continuation of your logic. You said that if a team has taken a qb in the second round, you don't have a problem with them taking a QB in the next draft as well. What's the reason for doing so ? Because you don't know if the first QB you took will be the franchise QB! Here's how it works out. 2014 draft you take QB1. 2015 rolls around and you aren't sure of QB1 yet, so you take QB2. ( That's the 2 Qbs in back to back drafts that you mentioned._) QB1 didn't play much at all in 2014 but gets the nod to start in 2015. At the end of the season, he'll only have 16 or so starts under his belt. At this point, you still won't know if he is a "franchise QB" or not. QB2 will have 1 year on the bench with 0 starts so you don't know much about him either. As your team still doesn't have it's franchise QB yet, why wouldn't you take a QB for the 3rd draft in a row ? That's the logic of your position. To keep drafting QBs until you get one who's a Franchise QB. That's not taking your logic to the extreme at all. Funny thing is that the logic is kind of on track, the only thing I'm taking issue with is the time frame. You absolutely keep drafting QBs until you get one who is a franchise QB. My difference is that you don't take QBs back to back in most instances. For example, the Jags took Bortles last year therefore it wouldn't make much sense for them to take Mariota this year.
You were banned at JI, you're not a Jet fan and you're not a quarterback whisperer. You're entitled to your opinions and I'm entitled to my opinions that your opinion is invalid. Ok cupcake? _
This dude did it all the time over at JI until he was banned. His theories on quarterbacks are completely illogical and invalid. _
Back on topic, there are now at least 5 teams being rumored to be trading up for Mariota (Jets, Cleve, SD, NO and Eagles) as well as Tenn and Wash actually taking him. It can't all be true but reporters are reporting it as if each one is legit. How does each one of these guys get such a scoop when likely very few of them are true? _
Because I see Alex Smith, at best. And with the team we have, I don't see Alex Smith as worthy of our 6. As we've learned, painfully, striking out on a top 10 pick can be crippling long term.
If you truly believe Mariota is a better prospect then Winston, then you have no credibility as a talent evaluator.
