I say we get Al Pacino....It would look good in the papers....do one of those great scripted speeches, like the inches one....but seriously this team needs a coach to light a fire up under everyones ass, because I've watched Jets football and it has been straight lack of everything...

If we bring in Spagnuolo than all of the work that Tanny has done in the draft and the FA's on this defense would have gone to nothing. He's a 4-3 DC which means hiring him puts us in rebuilding mode.

Sutton is gone for sure but I'd think that Keith Butler (LB Coach - Steelers) would be a better choice for DC after this season than Crennel. Look at what he's done with Woodley between this last season and this one: complete turn-around. I'm not convinced that Crennel would want to jump right back into coaching after this season, and I think the chances of Butler being the next choice double if Mangini gets the ax in favor of Bill "part of the reason I hate Pittsburgh" Cowher.

Honestly, I would give the job to Mike Westoff. Here is a guy who excells at what he does and knows the organisation. I also like his passion unlike the cow on the sideline chewing the cud.

Mangini needs more time. He's a young, developing coach. Like I said 3 years ago- do you guys want a new coach every 3 years? 3 years from now we'll call for the head of the next guy, this is not what winning teams do.

You bring up a good point, it's too early to fire him. Even if he has made some major, boneheaded, absolutely deplorable decisions this week and this season, he's still learning and this is his first stint as an HC. What's going to be important is how he learns from this.

If we bring in a new coach than either the defense or the offense is going to be completely scrapped and retooled, which means it'll be another 2-3 years before the team truly becomes productive. Right now, we're only a few key players away from being a true contender. Is no one else looking at the fact that this team still has a shot from improving over the previous season by six games?

If he is fired it will be his last stint as a NFL HC too. He is universally hated around the NFL because of spygate.

We'll definitely see a new DC in here, that and a competent QB and we'll be alot better next year. It may not tranlate to more wins b/c the sched will likely be more difficult but we'd be better w/ those 2 improvements.

And no, I wouldn't want Callahan under any circumstance at all. Here is a guy who absolutely destroyed one of the greatest college football programs in history. He did it so thoroughly that they may never come back. That is Callahan's true ability.

It is not too early to fire him and fire him they will. If they don't they have to give him an extension. Is that what you want? No coach is ever allowed to enter a season as a lame duck and that is what he will be next year without an extension.

I'd like to think we could do better than Callahan. It wouldn't be the most ridiculous thing in the world but I mean, there are better guys out there.

Is Steve Spagnuolo from the Giants worth a look?

I want fire on the sideline. I want a coach who is not afraid to cut big players and start unkown ones.

I also what someone who will grab a player by the jersey and yell in their face.
