we are going to be playing nickel over 65% of the snaps. i think we see more 4 down lineman then 3 downlineman
no one didnt. or at least it was debateable. now its no question, and we are head and shoulders above everyone. and we have someone who could be a suh/watt type
the same way that revis/cro/skrine are all going to get playing time. we are going to play nickel 60-70% of the time. we are going to see a ton of 4-2-5. we saw it a ton with arizona last season.
Don't get me wrong I like Williams watched him alot at USC. It was not a need right now but Williams is a stud but the positions I wanted the Jets to go in the first they addressed later on. I like the picks of Smith, Maulin and Petty. Petty was my favorite QB outside of Winston. Maccagnan did a great job. Now let's see what Bowles can do
I disagree with Detroit after losing Suh Ngata is just a space-eater at this juncture of his career, I think our defensive line is better. Houston, they have Watt - but Clowney has yet to show up - wouldn't you rather have our line? Miami, I can agree they are right there in terms of scheme and talent - Miami always has an underrated d-line
williams, wilkerson, richardson, coples - all 4 ears back going for the QB, all good run stoppers Harris, Davis - cleaning up anything that gets past the front 4. Revis, Cro, Skrine, Pryor, Gilchrist that's nasty
well, if he is gone in september that means we would have had to of traded him... while that is not something i prefer its not something id be totally upset with either depending on the return. Williams - Snacks - Sheldon is still an elite line, we would have cut the investment money wise there in half, and probably gotten a decent return via trade it wouldnt be the end of the world
If they were to get the asking price of 2 first round picks I wouldn't be upset, I wouldn't be dancing in the aisles, but better than letting him walk next year for just a comp pick.
I think we'll see a lot of 4-2-5 this year Coples-Williams-Richardson-Wilkerson Harris-Davis Revis-Pryor-Gilchrist-Skrines-Cromartie/Milliner Defense has scary potential. Monster line forcing the QB to throw it quickly, and a monster secondary to force the QB to hold it longer. Something has to give there.
I'm not so sure about that. Harris is just too slow to be one of only two LBs on the field. He can't cover enough ground. I think we'd be more likely to see 4-1-6 than than 4-2-5, unless Pryor is playing one of the two LB positions.
Pryor playing LB in the box with Davis would be very interesting on obvious passing downs. I still think we'll see Harris out there more often than not though.
It's interesting how versatile this Jets DL is. Think about all the different spots guys like Wilk, Sheldon,Q, & yes Big Leonard can line up at & the different things they can do. It Bowles chooses he could get really exotic & diverse w/ different looks/rush packages. Confusion adds just another layer of difficulty that this group will cause offenses
