I just don't get where this kids gonna line up how's the playing time gonna work,I really don't see how we resign Wilkerson now
I also love how the kid is only 20 years old.....Not a bad thing to have an amazing D-line....I would hate playing against our D
I'm not,Because we really needed help in other areas I'm not big on "BPA" when its a stacked position and the move doesn't make sense.Kevin White would have made us a well rounded team ,Brandon Marshall is 31 and coming off a carrer low season White could have been a long term answer at WR something we desperatley need
Yeah I was wrong. I'm quite surprised how fully committed Mac is to BPA. I'm not upset, though. Quite the opposite, in fact. Just surprised.
I'm not a big BPA fan either. Vernon Gholston was a BPA and how did that work out. These coaches scouts should know everything by now. They should know if they can coach up a player instead of copping out and taking the safe pick and claiming its the BPA. It has been 6 straight years of addressing the defense and no playoff appearence in the last 4.
Woke up this morning and I'm absolutely loving this pick even more! The Big Cat was the best player in the draft and we now have the best DL in the league.
Mangini had a hard on for Gholston after checking him out in shorts at the combine. Williams wasn't really considered by many because it seemed insane that he would make it to the Jets pick, and even more insane that he'd get added to the d-line that is already in place. Totally different situations.
I think we keep him too. Drafting Williams I don't believe had anything to do with Wilkersons contract. The best player fell to us and he was too good to pass up. Big Cat can play anywhere on the DL including NT.
No, Mangini didn't. Mangini did his homework on Gholston, even contacting Rex Ryan in Baltimore who told Mangini that he wouldn't touch him at #6. It was a Tanny pick.
No he wasnt.. that pick was the exact oppossite and so is this player (williams) Gholston pick was a total "draft for need" trying to squeeze him into the OLB passrush role because he had great combines numbers (I thought he looked like shit in real game play with no instincts) Williams is a gameday player and the exact opposite. geeeez
Being that Williams hasn't lined up for one play in the NFL yet. Let's get through preseason at least. Stephen Hill looked great on day 2 of the draft too.
Not really...... I was questioning "Why not Alshon Jeffrey?!?" and some people said I was stupid because of Hill's "upside". Vern, Ducasse, Hill...... see the pattern of failure? But I do agree, it doesnt mean shit until they get on the field, but at least this one is more promising.
