it just seemed every time we needed a big return, we got nothing. now of course, those fair catches all could have been the right thing to do on that particular play but I remember thinking ot myself often, " damn, I wish he returned that shit :)

If Mac's idea is to trade Kerley I'd look to the skins, they can use a guy like Kerley and rid themselves of Cousins. Win win

According to OTC.com there would be a $2.4M dead money hit if he were traded and only a $200K cap savings. For a team that needs to extend Mo I don't see how they could take that dead money hit.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. If kerley is in the doghouse, it is because Idzik and Rex gave him the big extension last year. I do not think mac and Todd would have done that for a guy who is a 3rd receiver at best.

We need to keep Kerley. The trade talks are crazy. As of right now we have Marshall which is great, but if he were to get hurt during this season and missed a handful of games I wouldn't be surprised by the least bit. Add Decker who had a hammy problem last year and I'm a little worried about WRs in regards to injuries. Who knows if Devon Smith takes a good shot he may very well be out for a while. If Enunwa is playing well enough to take snaps away from Kerley then great that just means when and if some of these guys go down we won't be in as bad a shape. I'm praying nothing happens to Marshall or Decker, but again I wouldn't be surprised if one or both of them go down for an extended period of time.

I want to see Enunwa hold on to the ball and make some plays before anointing him the #1 slot receiver. Maybe he's a wizard in practice, but as we saw with Muck Sanchez, it doesn't matter what you do in practice, it matters what you do on the field, during a game.

That would be a bad trade for the Jets IMO. There is no reason to trade Kerley for a QB that would probably be cut once Geno is healthy.

Isn't Enunwa the guy who is like one concussion away from having to retire?

Enunwa is a very large dude with very good speed. I hope he can contribute because he has the upside to be a low #1 or #2 WR. That being said I also think Kerley has a role in the team. The more contributors we have the better off the Offense will be.

I'll 3rd the notion of Kerley being the 'quickest'. Very well said. Some people have forgotten how good he actually looked his rookie year playing with Sanchez. Dude turned some short throws into big gains.

I agree he wasn't great retuning punts last year, but do you remember years prior? Dude was actually really good. Go watch some highlight videos on YouTube to jog your memory.

Meh. The past is the past. Let's see what he does this year. But to call him a great PR is not correct at this point.

I never understood the $4 mil per year extension (with guaranteed money) that we gave Kerley.

While I can see that we wanted to lock up one of our better WRs before he hit the market, who exactly were we competing against that set the market for his services so high.

Most of us saw him having the potential to develop into a solid # 3 WR.

Now that we have competition at the WR position it seems that Kerley isn't even that good.

Best of luck to our Jets in finding a sucker to take his guaranteed contract now.

When we signed him to that contract, the majority of the people on here agreed with it and liked it. It's not bad value for what he can contribute. Again, a lot of people seem to have forgotten how solid he can be. Go watch some highlights to jog your memory.

If Enuwa outperforms Kerley in the preseason then i'd have no problem shipping him out for a 5th round draft pick or a young player on someone elses team that fits an are of need for the Jets.

Some of these trade propositions are absolutely crazy. I hope I'm proved wrong, but Kerley nets us nothing more than a 7th round draft pick if that. If Marshall gets dealt for a 5th, Mike Wallace & a 7th for a 5th round pick, Anquan Boldin for a 6th round pick and on and on, there's really no reason a team should give up anything more than a 7th. We're talking about legitimate 1,000 yard receivers in this league.

I just hope to god he doesn't make his way to New England. I could only really see him flourishing with them, Denver or Green Bay with quarterbacks that know how to audible these guys at the line into the right route that's simply a timing/space finding route combination. Outside of that, we might as well keep him and stash him as the 4th/5th receiver if Enunwa or Owusu prove to be better options.

Do you guys even consider what the rest of the team was when he was putting up his #s?
