Again, he would have been a low risk signing. he would not have been signed to start but once he showed he was healthy and capable of doing what he is doing now he would be starting by now.

I have to disagree with this statement. I don't see Big Ben now or any of the last 2 seasons any better than Chad. When he had his incredible rookie win streak, he was throwing for 150yds and 1 tchdn. Yet, he won a SB. We need better talent on both sides of the ball and I think Chad can lead this team to a SB.

Big ben had the arm and legs to make VERY CRUCIAL plays last year during the late stretch. You could make an argument that if he hadn't been in there and making those plays, the steelers don't even make the PO's. IMO of course

Put Chad Pennington on the 2004 Steelers and we are talking about them as back to back Champs right now. :)

    My opinion too of course.

Chad would not be able to make the throws that BB made. I'm sorry. And that time BB got hurt, he missed a couple of games. Chad would've been dead.

Agreed. We must all hope for that at least.

actually, they need not to take him out. if he can play all 16 games, then he has trade value. they wheeled john abe for mangold. they could wheel chad for a package of picks, getting maybe a nt or pass rusher project in middle rounds. remember how the pats traded drew to buffalo and the vikes traded culpepper for a 2nd? the pats have been stockpiling picks for :eek:hmy: future years ever since.

Yea but in the pats and vikes case, their backups performed very well during the season. Ours probably won't play at all.

If we let Chad go he would be starting and winning games for the Kansas City Chiefs right now. There was never a doubt in my mind he'd end up there if we cut him.

:shit: not likely. remember who's the alleged head coach there. that team is unprepared for the season, and as yogi berra says "it's deja vu, all over again".

Hey msnyjet, go find me a team willing to actually give up anything worthwhile for a QB whose had 2 rotator cuff surgeries.

i would say use your brain, but we all know you dont have the required equipment

Bad idea. Losing the offense for a defensive tackle or pass rusher?

Make our offense drop to 30th in the league and bring the defense up to 24th?

    Not worth it.

Also, who would accepted a Mangold for Abraham straight up trade?

I would not of, but Mangold has been solid so far no doubt.

    Title should be changed to:

"If Chad doesn't restructure his contract, where are the Jets now?"

Reason I say this is because I saw on the NFL Today that he can make all of his money back.

He most likely will make it all back.

I guess I misunderstood his contract.

I get it now and thought I would let everyone know.
