The savior would actually be Joe Douglas. I get not having faith in the Jets as an organization, and Douglas definitely isn’t above criticism, but the last decade shouldn’t be a part of his annual review. He’s made decisions that most of our “win now” GM’s wouldn’t have, and to this point he’s won the same number of Super Bowls that they did. Last GM to save money and hoard picks was Idzik, but Idzik couldn’t draft. There’s reason to believe that Douglas can. There’s also reason to believe that, due to the contract length he negotiated, Douglas was planning to do a full rebuild right off the bat. If this all time low of a season nets us a good coaching staff and, finally, a QB worth building around for a decade+, it’ll be worth it. Those 2 upgrades alone would win the Jets some games next season.
