Better to trade him for a draft pick then cut him.

Just a thought, he may not have the height. Think it might lengthen his career.

I wish the Jets were performing as phenomenally well as this country is right now. I guess you don't have the best eye for quality leadership

The NFL doesn't have this type of code. You want your players to be wild men and play with passion. Jesus Christ remember the Raiders of the 70s? They looked like they were let out of Attica before every game

What’s with your obsession with hair?

You’ve probably never heard of the guys but go on the Google and look up Troy Polamalu or Odell Beckham Junior or John Riggins or Joe Namath or Domata Peko.

I don't remember them tbh but I understand your point fully :)

I was born in 72 but only started with American football in 83/84/85ish lol I have heard that they were a vicious bunch of animals, but did their hair stick out all over the place.

After googling they did have long hair and some facial fluff, ah well looks like they were an unprofessional bunch as well, no doubt fat as well.

Not real sure if it matters. Leo had better understand that football IS ABOUT WINS AND LOSSES. Doesn't matter who's uniform he's wearing. Lose often enough and your job is on the line. Easy stuff for adults to understand.

What are these "wins" that you speak of? Never heard of them.

I'm familiar with the other term.

You missed the good old days K'OB. Back in the day, spearing was legal. It caused some truly vicious and permanent injuries too. Do a google/wiki search on Darryl Stingley. You'll come accross the name of the most feared safety in the history of the NFL. His name was Jack Tatum and he had a partner named George (Dirty George) Atkinson. I think it was dirty George that delivered the hit on Stingley. Point being, the NFL used to be brutal. Far more than today's league.

Not sure I call that the good old days, think we can do without tackles after the ball is long gone paralyzing some poor fucker, don't get me wrong it does seem a lot softer now but this season has been still filled with injuries across a lot of teams.

Man that really was an awful tackle.

Now out of my memory, I remember a Redskin QB having his knee/leg bent the wrong way, that was a horrific sight, Shroeder?

EDIT Theismann, how odd to remember the guy who replaced him, isn't the brain an odd thing lol

Yes... Lawrence Taylor smashed Redskin QB Joe Theisman and the broken bone actually was visible thru his pants. I think in more recent times, RGIII had his leg bent in the wrong direction too while playing for... the Redskins. Hmmmmm

Compared to today's game, the Stingley hit was right out of the Jurassic NFL period. I'm pretty sure with the history of injuries and the evidence of CTE damage, the NFL had to take action. The Jack (BlackJack) Tatums, George (Dirty George) Atkinsons and even Ronnie Lott couldn't play in today's League.

Get Sam some NFL calibre help in 2019 on the OLine and a better system to run.

I remember a hit jack tatum lay on Lynn Swan away from the ball Swan’s back was to him and Tatum hit him with a forearm to the head that Swan would not get up from he would be suspended for weeks if not the year if it happen in today’s game

This thread has been hilarious to read through. I am pretty sure the basis of the post is from a Manish article, which are always pathetic. I read it and Leo came off fine to me. He said he wants to build a winner in New York, likes playing here, but Bowles leaving could make it easier for him to leave too since he will be starting over as a Jet or another team. That is true, but also not true. He is under contract in 2019 with the Jets picking up his option, so he will have a year with the new environment/Head Coach to see if he likes it or not. If he doesn't, then he would be starting all over again with a new team in 2020.

Leonard's production hasn't been great or All-Pro, or even game changing, but I think he is a pretty good player. Hopefully a new coaching staff can get more out of him and the rest of the roster in 2019.
